Appreciate it, but pretty sure I'm gonna go green on one of those favorite two I liked. Dipping a bike for a friend soon. If I get the gun dialed in the way I like I'll try Iguana Green or another bright *** green.

I dig the black with bright wheels, but they should be orange like your bike was.

Wow.. The "Holographic Micro Flake Burnt Orange" looks sick. I would love to have that done to my Raven.
Do you guys take the decals off when plasti-dipping? I have the 2012 Raven with decal under the clear coat on the tank and decal on the fairings. I am not sure if i need to take them off or just spay the plasti-dip over them?
I saw MistahT plasti-dip job of the Orange color on youtube. I noticed that the tank decal was showing through with the orange. Intially, i was planning to do the Blaze Orange with Gold Metalizer on the fairings and half of the tank. I saw it on a harley online and it looked awesome. But now i saw the Holographic Micro Flake Burnt Orange, i am debating which is better. The Gold metalizer on the orange looked really good with the tank sides Orange with gold metalizer and middle of tank with Black with silver metalizer.
My biggest concern is if i need to take the decals off or not?

I did a few videos when I dipped. Orange by itself didn't cover well, but then I went back and did it right. I laid down black as a base, then white to make the florescent orange pop, and orange. When I did blue it was just black and then World Rally Blue Pearl. Black or gray as a base will cover the tank decals. The fairing decals can stay. The edges of the stickers are so close to the edges of the fairing you won't see them. I'm OCD about a lot of stuff but it didn't bother me, so you'll be fine.

First time I dipped iirc I had about 6 coats of black, 4-6 white, and 6 or more orange. I went a little overboard, but I'm glad I did since I never got any scratches or tears, even where the zipper rubs the tank.
Second time around I did about 4 coats of black and about 3 or 4 coats of World Rally Blue Pearl. Got some tears about 2 months in right at the edge of the fairings where they come up to the tank by my knees and it started peeling back. Tank also got pretty rough tossing my magnetic backpack on there at least twice a day every day and sliding around.
There is no downside using a lot of dip. The more you use the better the protection.

Thanks... wow that many coats. The fumes must've got the whole neighborhood high...lol. I did a sample rustoleum paint test on a plastic bucket from lowes and with a quarter of a spray paint and i felt like i was going to pass out. It made me so nauseous. The fumes then somehow went from my garage up through the walls into my house. i had to light up couple of insense to mask that smell in my living room. Definitely, going to be doing the plasti-dip outside in my backyard instead of the garage.
How many cans do you need for each coat? I want to order them online. I don't want to run out in the middle of the job.

BE CAREFUL, DIP FUMES ARE INCREDIBLY FLAMMABLE!!!
Now that's out of the way, yeah this stuff stinks! I sprayed mine with gallons through the Earlex paint sprayer. The first time I did black and white coats with spray cans and said never again! The gallons spray silky smooth once you get the sprayer dialed in and it costs a lot less than using cans. I've had cans leave big drops, not cover smooth, and have all kinds of odd effects.
One tip that helps but doesn't make it perfect is to boil some water, as soon as it stops bubbling drop in the spray cans (don't let the sprayer tip get underwater). The warm water will help the paint atomize. With or without warming the cans, black can spray pretty smooth, but all other colors I've done have odd effects and come out textured. The white I sprayed was HORRIBLE. I just tried green cans on my FZ6R since I was only doing the tank and tail, and that was even worse! I'd take pics but I got pissed and peeled it yesterday.
If you want it to look good and you're doing a color, pony up the extra couple hundred and get a sprayer from Dip Your Car. Gallons are cheaper too to save some money, and you can get pearls, color changing, and flakes and stuff to customize your color... I can talk more about that if you want.
