test rode a brand new 2009 ninja zx6r in blue

Worked on the numbers and it looks like this

$4800 for trade

Comes out to $7128 out the door with tax and everything
they want $499 for the warranty but I think id pass on that

Or the other option I am considering

Brooke gives me $1500 towards my next bike, she assumes payments on fz6r and we keep the fz6r and get the new bike but we lose the tax trade difference(only about $200)

Or my buddy wants to buy it cash in hand....$5000

SOOO I have those three options

I havent gotten down to test drive the 08 cbr600RR yet....it has 4800 miles on it and they want $5995 for it but he said if its a cash deal they will sharpen their pencil otherwise shuffle the money into the trade to fluff n buff it.....

The CBR if the give me $4800 on trade id only pay tax on $1195

so tax, title, license Id owe $4838 on a 2008 with almost 5000 miles.(does have new rear tire though)

I have no idea what route to go lol

08 cbr600rr for about $4900 out the door with 5,000 miles

or

brand new 2009 Zx6r for $7100 out the door

ninja has the better looking tach!

the ninja did 90 in 2nd gear with about 5000rpms left to go....

Honda and Kawasaki, both good I have had both names in my years of riding one was a brand new 94' KX 125 man that thing was bad ass. Didn't do anything to it and won dirtbike races left and right. Fast forward to right after Katrina bought a Honda dual sport 650 very very reliable bike both brand new. Then 09' got my 6R, but lately the more I read I see that Kawasaki has been leading the pack in sportbikes, from the 250 on up, they seem to stay ahead of the game. That is amongst the big four (Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda, & Suzuki). IMO CC I would really look at the Kawasaki hard and research it more, cause the last article I read stated that the Kawasaki over it's other Japanese counterparts can give you just what you need on the street and really preform and surprise you on the track! Good luck!

come on man, you need to throw in a couple more makes/models so we can call you whatever :Flip:

me, i'd get the cbr600rr. you, just need to figure out which one gets your juices flowing more and go for it. both are great bikes

I took it for about a 10 mile ride...I had it up to 130....Im not trying to sound like whatever...but do you think that was more harm then good where I shouldn't buy that exact bike now? granted that was using all 6 gears....

lmfao!!! No....but Ill tell you what...on the fz6r I am always hesitant on left hand sweeper/twistys.....

wasnt like that on the ninja....I dont get why

you rode someones F4i right, and now this ninja - see if you can try to test the cbr600RR or another one as it's a completely dif. animal from the F4i. my guess is you're in lust (like that slutty girl in school) with the ninja now, liked the F4i, and the CBR600RR might be a good one in between those two you can actually live with long term. and likewise you might not like the feel of an RR and think another one is a better fit for you

yeah with the ninja's more aggressive ergos, and any SS for that matter, the bikes just fall into corners more naturally. on my zx10r i have to be extra careful because it turns in so quickly, then with the power i screw up more apexes than i care to admit. but i can't help it, i'm addicted

CC if you really are thinking of a, Ducati or a Daytona Triumph etc. I wouldn't pull the trigger on Just getting something else. Take your time and "DO YOUR HOMEWORK" it will pay off for you. Dont settle for something you really may not want down the road!!

i just honestly dont think I can afford the upkeep on a duc.

at 12k u have to replace the valves?

no, it's a valve check, not replace. the upkeep cost is an exaggeration, sure if you have a dealer do ALL the maint. it's slightly more than a jap. bike. even so, would not recommend you jump into a duc right now, don't believe you are in a financial situation to afford a $10k bike, one good crash and you'll be crying. you're young and have plenty of time for more bikes. getting a 600 SS is a logical step up from the FZ6R

This is America, get whatever requires the biggest loan so you can sink into debt. The average credit card debt for Americans is $15,956. If you're not close to there, you're doing something wrong. But a new bike will get you on the right track.

Weren't you bitching about student loans a few weeks back? And not too much before that bitching about losing money when you tried to buy a house and the bank appraised it too high?

Yep. I was bitching about student loans and how they are out of control. I also bitched about how it sucked to lose money on a house 3 times in appraisals and inspections...no one enjoys pissing money away.

Is it the smartest thing in the world to do...not really....will it happen tomorrow...who knows.....Im not sure I want to, but at the same time I really would enjoy the new bike. We shall see how the cookie crumbles.
