the island is pretty big. Takes about 4 hours to go around. Lots of beaches and mountain views. When I lived in Sd I only went to La twice in 6 years so being here doesn't bother me. I'll trade more roads for chicks in bikinis any day.
dangit now I want to go live there!
Yea the North Shore is pretty hard to beat when it comes to the scenery.I need to go back now that i'm single lol.
Did you get your bike from the dealership near the airport next to Thrifty Rental?I went in and bought a hat when I was there, mistake...I had the urge to ride the entire time I was there after that.I took my rental Jeep into that off road park on the north shore to eat lunch once, nice little track hidden up there.
When we were in Maui we drove the Road to Hana in the rental car. This was before I was riding a sportbike. It was the most incredible road I've been on. Not something I would ever rip around fast on a bike because it's so narrow and so often it'll have random rain out of nowhere. But the locals didn't seem to have a problem with it. No gear and nearly dragging knee on a road barely wide enough for 2 cars.
Only road scenery wise that came close was 101 coming out of Monterey and through Big Sur. That road is much better for a bike though.Ricenoodle

I actually owned a zuma/bws when I got to the island. My friend actually bought this bike from the South Seas next to the Thrifty that you're thinking of. He bought it brand new this year in January, sold it to me by May, apparently a cbr 1000 fits his riding style better. All the typical mods were already done to it, TBR full exhaust system, juice box, FE, Integrated taillight, so I couldn't walk away from the deal for a 2013 FZ6R with 600 miles for $5700 with the 3 year maintenance plan included. I've just taken the mods further since then. The roads here range from beautiful scenery to gnarly twisties through the woody mountain roads, perfect for me.

I dropped my front end down, now just need to find the time tomorrow or Saturday after work to install my Woodcraft clip-ons.

I rode it to work. I tried to make my 600 mile appointment for this week, but my shop is 3 weeks out. Made the appointment for 2nd (soonest available), but in the meantime, I'm be putting another 500 miles on it as I can finally commute every day of the week, weather permitting.
Great! Did 2 test run and drove to work with BehindXgrnXeyes bike this morning. Actually the Danmoto with the stock DBK is pretty close to be ok without a PCV. Since I have the bike all hooked up now I and I have the bike for the weekend I might as well built the map. So much easier with the data logger. One run around the block and to work, I already have about 50% of the map sort out!!!
Getting better at it! So much tuning done with the FZ8... practice make good!
Ah, I haven't told her but for some of you that have an older version of PCV, make sure you have an updated firmware. The PCV wasn't reading RPM with the map I upload... all fine now.
The bike should start pulling a bit better already with the next map. But one thing sure, there's a world of difference between a stock bike and mine with the FZ6 cams... not even funny!

Map done! Look like the Danmoto with DBK is good to go with no PCV. Numbers look safe! If there's anything it run a bit rich in some area and on the safe lean (13.8-14.0:1) in some others.
Perfect set up!!! Sound great too (way different from my bike)
Might give it a run without DBK tomorrow if I have time. Gotta work tomorrow... I should have been in bed long time ago... Ah well, done!

Thanks. Not too hard to do either. More tedious than hard. Trying to get everything lined up to clear plastics and tank was super tedious.
