What did you do to your bike today?

Hit a cager's mirror today with my mirror lane splitting. Left a nice scuff on my mirror, got the heck out of there so didn't see what happened to their mirror. Said Mafia Mike's Pizza on the car, hopefully I didn't hit the wrong person's mirror... damn car on the right of me started scooting to the left so I had to squeeze. maybe it's time for aftermarket mirrors...

no offense.....but maybe its time to stop lane splitting

He's in San Diego. Here it's not only legal, but encouraged and far safer to lane split when done right than it is to sit in stop and go traffic and get rear ended. 20% of riders in California don't lane split and those same 20% get in 80% of the freeway crashes in stop and go traffic by getting rear ended. If you learn to do it right, you feel so much safer and would never go back. I'll never sit in stop and go crap on the freeway.
 
Hmm very well then here in va it's not legal at all but you have a point that I can't truly argue

That is why I would love it to be legal in florida, would make it so nice.

It's great, but he did a hit and run. That's not cool.
 
Yesterday, I pulled off all the fairings and plastic bits and gave her a good cleaning. Then I lubed the chain, waxed every painted surface, admired her and then went for a ride.. Great day for it!

Has nothing to do with being legal or encouraged.. He hit a car and ran.
 
I agree leaving the scene was the wrong thing to do. I wasn't so much talking about the hitting of he car. I was just pointing out that jon was wrong in suggesting that lane splitting was something he shouldn't have been doing in the first place.

Does that make you a female rider? Female riders are encouraged around these parts, as we don't have enough of them!
