I couldnt take pics with oil all over my hands, bike, ground, everywhere. Even with the K&N filter on, somehow stripped the socket end...so had to resort to the hammer and screwdriver method. Sigh.

Sucks, and blows. At least it's done, now it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Maybe next week...nothing but rain and out of town all weekend. Ugh :zombie:

Be sure you're not using that nut to tighten the oil filter. If you're stripping that nut that means either you put it on WAY too tight, or you used the wrong sized wrench. Or both. It only needs to be hand tight.

It was 12 lbs torque per the manual. Problem was, last time I didn't have the exact socket, so used a gator/adjustable socket...those little teeth chewed it up. Should be better this timw

Six hours in the rain, usually pretty darn hard. Torrential is a good word for it. It's not about what I did for my bike, today. It's about what she did for me: She never even sputtered.
At one of the fuel stops, she didn't want to fire back up. Took three presses of the button. Then she fired hard and happy. The rain was so hard, the waterproof covers for my Givi's were actually holding a gallon or more, each.
She did me well, in a very hard and grueling run. She's got some lovin' coming. A nice wash and lube as soon as I can make it happen. Lord knows she needs it!

Today I installed my dark smoke zero gravity windscreen not sure that I like the nearly black one on my white and red bike but its what I have lol I cleaned the bike today as well but do to sever thunder storms and tornado watch no riding today

Went for my second ride of the year and nearly regretted it. It was a short ride but on the way back I came across a patch of black ice under an overpass where the sun doesn't reach it. It took me a bit by surprise since no other underpass I went under had any ice, including the same one heading the other way I went through just a few minutes before.
There was no avoiding it so I let off the throttle a bit (doing about 70 before I let off) and made sure the bike was as straight up as possible. The patch extended across both lanes of the highway and was about 50-60 ft long, or nearly the full width of the overpass. Before I went under it I checked my mirrors and thought to myself, "Thank God no one is right behind me in case I go down so I hopefully won't get run over."
I made it through okay, but my rear tire was starting to come around a little bit by the end of it. Definitely made my b-hole pucker. I don't know if I'll be doing much more riding until I get back home from my next work rotation. By then all the snow and ice should be gone and the sand and gravel swept off the main roads.

I put the light smoke zero gravity db on this week, mine is white and red, it looks nice. Now I'm looking for wind stop gloves because I think I have to take the handguards off, they hit the windshield

I was getting ready to wash my bike and I noticed that somebody stole my license plate. Damn Im so pissed!!!!
I wasn't planning to get an alarm system, but this changed my mind. On my way to the store to get one.

I check with everybody already and if somebody is playing tricks with me I don't think the military Police or me are going to be happy with the joke.ostcop:Just came back from cycle gear and im getting ready to install the alarm.
