next bike - poll

I am starting to look at what my next bike is going to be I have three main choices - Yamaha FJR1300; Honda Goldwing F6B; or the Harley Davidson Street Glide. Links below. Please vote for the one you would choose.... and explain choice below...

the Honda ctx1300 is another option I am just not big on the fairing - bars set up...

A little background - I came from the cruiser market because I wanted some more speed and better handling...but after two years on my fz6r my ability to 8-12 hr rides has diminished significantly do to the ergo's. I plan to keep the fz6r for my around town stuff... but wanting something geared for a little more long distance... all opinions welcome....

Do a list of what you want on a bike then match the bike that would fit your criteria the most without mods. From your list... not digging the Honda personally. Can't go wrong with the FJR. I never test ride it but very review are great. But to be honest, as much as I don't like them much... If I was going to sit my bump on a bike to chew up 1000's a miles of flat slab a year. The H-D bagger would be my pic. Aftermarket support is endless and anywhere you ride there's a H-D dealer. My uncle rode SS all his life and he own a Bimmer Adventure bike for years, he now ride a H-D and love it.

If you keep the 6R as a sporty ride the H-D make sense. I don't thing for me I'll be doing that much long ride and a Super Tenere or V-Strom 1K is next on my list. Super comfy for extended ride and still can rip some twisties.

The 2014 FJR for sure from the options. It's a beautiful bike, and sounds like a great machine from what I hear. Plus, the red color, well... It's just very pretty... Kinda heavy, though.

I am going to start sitting on them this weekend... before I bought the fz I sat on it like 5 different times...for a total of about 8 hrs...the sales rep got tired of seeing me...but was happy to finally make the sale. I want to make sure I am comfortable...long range...why I didn't mention some of the other bikes that have been thrown around is my 31" inseam/ bad hip/ weakness for picking a bike up off the ground when I do drop it. If you want a ballzy bike Ninja 1k, Want comfort Ninja 1k, Seating position Ninja 1k, as close to a super sport as you can get but still have a touring bike Ninja 1k. 40mph with 5gal tank. 126 bhp 75 ftlb torque. Did I mention BALLZY FULL OF POWER, SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF YOU LIFT THE FRONT TIRE OFF THE GROUND IN EVERY GEAR IF YOU THROTTLE PAST 30%. Oh and you can get saddle bags:soapbox::soapbox:

Well, the salesman told me I could keep my cash and transfer it on another bike if I don't like the 09. I was rubbing the Z1K when e start talking about the 09. That would have been a good back up plan! LOL

after test riding the fjr, I can attest, she's a beast that has comfort... if it weren't for the lower mpg, I'd have her and only her for daily commute and long touring... but, as she's meant for long hauls, I'd probably pick her up and then eyeball a little 250 for commuting... fz6r is my compromise now, but a 80+mpg bike for commute and a fjr for long touring would be all I'd need (and she's no slouch on the corners, at rest a bit heavy, but once she's rolling, felt like the fz6r... not a track bike, but that's not me...)

After test riding the FZ09 and the 1k Ihad way way more fun on the 1K. It supposed to be a sport tourer but its clasification in the us iz ZX1000 and is in the superbike slot on the website. Did I mention the balls this thing has?

A beast isn't the word for it...I was just using google to see if you could tow a trailer with a Fjr, question answered lol.

i personally would never buy a Harley, not that there is anything wrong with the bikes per say if you like lots of vibes and extra loud, but im not paying twice as much for the same amount of bike. And lets face it their reputation for reliability doesnt quite match Yamaha or Honda. My brother had a kawi Concourse he really liked. Im looking a suzuki c50 right now with a mustang seat and man that looks comfy, their 109 might be good for you. Also, having done over 500 miles on one i would tell you to go test ride a can am spyder. you will be very surprised at the excellent handling of them.

After looking up the FJR I could see myself riding one of those one day. May be the bike after next. I want something a little sportier before I go touring. Nice bike though!

a friend has one and its a really nice bit of kit..My pick would be between those models, the FJR, GTR or the F6B

been a Yamaha fan sold my fz6r and got the fz1 big dif did my own research what sold me was the dependability found people getting over 100k on them and still going strong says something about the motor looked and sat on ninza 1000 had great looks but didn't like the feel as much as the fz1 down fall is the motor realy likes the hi RPM's But the one thing I miss Most about my fz6r is the FORUM their is no better group of people on the web
