I'm going to share one the best pieces of advice I ever got on having a newborn in the house: It sleeps in the living room.

Thing is, a newborn is going to sleep no matter what, then they are going to wake up when they want to. Get them to used to sleeping through noise (like the TV) early on, and the baby won't wake with every little sound in the house in the future.

It'll save you a whole lot of sleepless nights later on.

Thanks for the advice. We have lots of friends with 2 month - 4 year olds. Thankfully we've got a great support system and we've seen what works and what doesn't.

Our friends did the same thing with their kid and now at 3 years old, she can go to sleep and we can be screaming and laughing playing Cards Against Humanity in the next room and she doesn't wake up :thumbup:

Congrats you will not regret it. At first then dont care about dad at all but by the time they are 2 dad is the best, until about 10 when minecraft and friends take over so make sure to suck up every moment of daddy time while you can it goes by SOOOO fast.
