    Anyone using grip protectors?

I'm talking about the deflectors you might see on an adventure bike. I'm wondering if they deflect the wind at all? I just got a pair of glove that at 43degrees F are still cold. I'm thinking a liner might help, but the deflectors might be even better. Thoughts?

Excited! Gear waiting for me at home

Waiting for me at home is a Shad top case and rack, ordered through my Yammy dealer. Supposed to fit a full face and a 3/4 helmet - enough so I don't need to lug my helmet around with me wherever I go. Will be nice to lock it up on the bike, along with gloves, earplugs, rain suit, and all the...

    Turn signal modifications

Could someone 'splain to me the turn signal modifications that you all are doing? I agree that our bikes looks a little gnarly with the lights hanging all the way out like they do, but in my admittedly convoluted mind this seems to be a safety should trump fashion issue. Aren't you at all...

    Things I don't like about our FZ6R

I have about 900 miles on my bike. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase as it does EXACTLY what I need it to do. It stops quickly and easily, it accelerates quickly (but not crazy fast), it turns well, and it returns decent fuel economy. There are lots of threads on what we like...

    Possible move to SoCal

So me and the family are considering a move to SoCal. Curious about life out there. Company is HQ in Colton/Riverside. We have a couple of school aged kids so schools are priority over lot size and squarefootage. We have been told to look in the Claremont, Upland, and Rancho Cucomonga areas...

    Autocross anyone?

My true lifelong passion after sailing is motorsports. I had the PRIVILEDGE of going to Virginia International Raceway with my dad a couple of years ago for some education with the Ferrari Club of North Carolina. Dad has since passed, and I haven't driven in any performance manner since (I...

Hope this wasn't one of you guys

Police: 4 NY Motorcyclists Clocked Going 138 Mph - ABC News I hate seeing this stuff on public roads. For the price of the ticket, they could have hit a track day (or 3) and had a load of fun for hours, instead of a cheap 5 minute thrill. Douches...

    Flashing lights = first amendment

Let's get this out of the way: I hate cops being used as revenue generators. I also hate cops with power trips. I respect the job that they have to do, but using them to generate revenue (rather than enforce the law) is insulting to us as tax payers and the professionals that many of our...

    Drink time...some old school recommendations.

Hey all, Looking for drink recommendations. I would like to try something new, and something "special". I usually drink bourbon on the rocks, and some other regulars are Tanqueray and Tonic, and Cape Codders. Looking for something maybe a little old school. A couple of rules: 1. I don't...

    School me on stands/lifts

Can someone help me understand how these things all work? I was looking at pictures of the venom stands/lift, but can't see how they work. Also, what is a spool slider? Thanks!

    Boots: shifter positioning

I have a pair of Redwing waterproof steel toe boots that I love- wore them on my Harley as riding boots and they worked great. Now that I have the FZ6r, I'm finding it hard to get my toe under the shifter - the toe box is pretty big. Can the shifter position be changed at all? I'd like to...

    New from Central VA

Hey all, Picking up my new 2012 FZ6r on Tuesday. Moving into it from an 02 Harley 883. Liked the Harley, but needed a more upright riding position - more like my road bike. I plan to turn it into a sport-tourer with a trunk and possible some saddlebags. Any recommendations on vendors/brands...
