So....... you telling me that nobody would have been cut off with a pipe? lmao!!!!! you make ZERO defense on the subject.... I will bow out at this time since I have learned in the past that you don't argue with ignorance or stupidity.... you will always loose... they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
not denying you have more experience, as i have only been riding for a year...bottom line, i love my exhaust, wouldn't go back to the stock if my life depended on it...i know why others dont want this exhaust and hey thats the way the world works...no ones the same and everyone has different opinions...
on my final note, at least one person on this forum agrees with me lol
Loud exhausts do contribute somewhat to our safety, but they are mainly to make our berries feel good. Like was said earlier; :woot: factor.
You're acting like the only direction on the road is forward. You want to stop riding in people's blind spots? Remember that you can slow down in addition to speeding up. It's not the right answer all the time, but it gives you another variable to work with to reduce your exposure.
If the car in front of you won't give you clearance to pass the one on your side, slow down and give an extra car length or so between you and the guy in front. That should take you out of the blind spot.
First rule of riding safely on surface streets, never leave yourself with less than two exits from any situation. I've used my hands to signal cagers around me that they need to back off my tail because they're pushing me into blindspots or into areas that have no way out. When we get to a stop sign they do tend to get confrontational, but I just calmly ask them if they would prefer to slow down a little or run me over and kill me because they forced me into a situation that caused me to go down?

Good response bro, I like how you handle things with people thats a great riders mindset and what will seperate you from riding till your 70 because you want to, or becoming road burger tomorrow
I like the quiet stock exhaust and it sounds great imo. Don't most people change their exhaust out for the horsepower gain and the weight loss though? As far as sound, I have absolutely no problem using my horn. In America bikers don't use horns as much as other countries... in Indonesia for instance, someone on a scooter might use their horn 20 times in a short trip just to make sure everybody knows they are there... and nobody is offended at all... it's actually the norm.
OK, The bs about "I made it louder cause it's safer" is the biggest line of stupid I have ever heard drool from anybodies lips. Please stop and think.... there is a fabulous thing call a horn. Does your car have a louder exhaust so people can hear you? Most of you, no. So in that theory people run into run lane with their car cause they didn't hear you? LMAO!!!! :spank:
You like to sound like you are on a race bike, it makes you feel cool, you don't like flocks of humming birds, those are at least real answers.
HAHAHahhaaha humming birds...... that was good....
Calling people names in a response shows your lack of maturity and stupidity. I don't pull punches with douche bags and you opened the door so if it hurts while slamming you backside..too bad..
I don't drive around with my horn button pushed all the time and for you to compare or equate a louder exhaust with a horn is ridiculous, asinine and just plain ignorant.
I noticed the moment I did the 5 minute free exhaust mod that I got a lot less cut offs from cagers effing up my day. It didn't stop them all...
Going with a straight pipe will bring Cops down on you but there is a happy medium that can be achieved. Sounds like you just like to brow beat people to make your non-existent points. Sounds like Alinsky tactics to me. You like Anarchy....?
Rant over for now...posters like these are a useless as tits on a boarhog.
All the posted videos show one thing; the motorcycle riders riding like they were driving a car. No motorcycle riding precautions and common sense at all...

Have you ever tried sleeping in one of those cities? A constant cacophony of vehicle horns does not a soothing lullaby make. I'll take the limited horn use here in the States if it means I can get a peaceful nights sleep when I stay in a hotel.

Having someone waking me up with a horn piss me off, but a nice exhaust tone put a smile in my face and remind me that my turn will come in the morning... brooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmm!!! pop pop pop!!!
It always amazes me how people get all outa whack because others don't share their opinions. To each his own. If you like and want a louder pipe, get one. If you don't, don't. It is pointless to try to convince someone that your opinion is better than theirs. I think the black FZ6R looks better than all the rest, but I'm not going to try to convince everyone that I'm right and the other colours aren't as good. Obviously they are, because a lot of people buy them.
I like the sound of an aftermarket exhaust much more than stock, but I don't want my bike to be louder and I don't want to spend the money. Does that make me an idiot or a hero? I guess it depends who I tell.

You're right! Black look good, but yellow is faster! I agree with you. We all end up customizing our bike to what we like, prefer or what suite our needs better.
Granted, I don't have a ton of experience with bikes, but I can lump most bikes (with or without an exhaust) into two categories:
1) So loud they're annoying, and if you dare zip by my house at 2:00 in the morning, you better not not live by me where I can find you.
2) Loud enough to hear in 1st-3rd gear, but even aftermarket exhaust I can't really hear that much louder than another car at speeds over 40mph, and therefore about the same amount of risk for 'safety' to me.
I don't really want to be *that* guy with the deafening exhaust, so I'm happy to put my $1000 into a set of Givi's instead of a TBR.
how am i suppose to get out of someones blind spot when theres someone in front of me and a car to the right of me or vise versa...? Im not saying that i regularly ride in peoples blind spots for the hell of it, im just saying when the situation presents itself to where im stuck in their blinds spots...like when people are blocking you in to where you cant pass them and get out of their blind spots...
Defensive riding saves lives. But that doesn't rhyme like "Loud pipes save lives" And further more I call bs on Chuck and Martin, the blue bikes look way better. Ride like your life depends on it and have fun gentlemen!
Actually, the yellow bikes only APPEAR faster. That's because brighter colours advance and darker colours recede. If you consider that they APPEAR marginally faster and are definitely brighter, the reality is that the black ones are actually faster, but APPEAR slower = good for avoiding tickets.

In that case, if a driver beside you moves over without looking they should hit another car before they hit you, given the car in front and behind you are wider than you are.
I hate commuting in traffic ~ my car makes my bike a lot more enjoyable because I ride it when I choose to.
