Ok, not dropped, really just knocked over.

Bike was parked in the garage, the top case got clipped when the car next to it backed out, and the bike went over on its right side. I heard it, ran over, lifted it back upright. Everything looked ok, except more scratches on the right bar end (3rd time dropped, always in driveway or garage, never while moving), footpeg pushed up, mirror moved, and signal light housing hanging and scratched. I got the mirror, peg and light housing back into position. It started fine. Then I went to ride it, and found the right handle was sitting higher than the left handle. Look down and see that the right side riser clamp is angled back. Sorry, no pics yet. I had to get to work and didn't take the time to get pics.

Has anyone else had the riser clamps bend like this? I figure I really don't want to try to bend them back, just need to get some replacements. My wife wants me to take it to the dealer to have them look at it. Necessary? Not necessary?

bent

Sounds like you need more room in your garage. I know whenever my wife takes my car i tell her "hit my bike and don't bother coming back" :)
Bent is bent in my opinion. Replace the risers. I got a really nice set of 2" ones that pivot back but the damn brake line is to short to pivot them back. The dealer is supposed to be getting me a new one. Think they were like $90

Yes, 2 car garage isn't quite large enough for the 2 cars, 2 bikes and lawn equipment.

Agreed. I was more wondering about whether more damage was really a possibility given the type of accident. The riser has a rod that goes through the top of the steering assembly with a fastener at the bottom. I'm curious about damage to the steering assembly.

I had an accident on my road bike 2 years ago where I ran up on the wheel of the guy in front of me. Hit the pavement hard (nice big dent in the helmet), and bounced into the ditch. I dropped the bike off at the shop the next day told them what happened, and asked them to look it over.

Look - they have eyes for this sort of thing and are going to notice if something is jacked up much better than you. Drop the $100 or so for labor - it's worth the piece of mind.
