What did you do to your bike today?

I am in the middle of a lot of work on my bike. I just completed a HID retrofit, dirt road just sent my seats back to me.

Next up is changing plugs, coolant flush, brake fluid flush and oil change as well as a deep cleaning. Cannot wait for spring (the next few months are going to take FOREVER!!!).

Bought a front fork stand! Now cleaning the wheels and rims is a breeze.

I got to ride! A month or so on stands, but today my day off coincided with 65 degrees Fahrenheit in the afternoon.

Just a two hour jaunt, but man was it spectacular! I couldn't let the wings out, not that kind of road. Still it was wonderful just to ride.

My next day off is currently forcasted in the mid to high seventies with a just a 20% chance of rain. A natural freak of a day, this time of year and especially this year. Keep your fingers crossed. Twisties here I come!

To those in more Northern climes? I feel your pain, but it does not detract from my joy!

I decided to change my gas cap to an aftermarket non locking type. I was looking at Vortex and Driven, but both were well over $100. Did some searching and came across this shop called gascapdude that makes their own billet aluminum products. Think I paid $40 with shipping and tax and it only takes a minute to change out. I am not really worried about someone messing with my gas (my truck and car don't have locking caps). The cap/base comes in chrome or black and I decided I liked the black better. I may paint the actual cap red down the road. Here's a pic.

Last Sunday I did chain and sprockets, clutch, and replaced a leaking fuel line !!

Looks nice and like you said it is vented. Figured for $40 it was worth a shot. I have stock if not for some reason.

But just bought a fuel controller and heading home soon with the little voice in the back of my head egging me on to buy a full system exhuast when i get back ..... we'll see what the wife says

Buy it before you get back. LOL! I spent 9 years moving around in the Navy so I feel your pain. Wish I would've had a bike while I was in though.

Beautiful Weather

I took the bike for my daily commute. The weather has finally broken here in Va, so i think a thorough wash and wax is in order!

Not much done on my bike lately. Did order a manual CCT & a new timing chain + sprockets. Not sure how much mileage I can get out of the oem one but for not that much $ is cheap insurance. Hoping to be a proud member of the 50K club soon.

Falling in love with the 6R all over again... FZ09 is getting jealous! LOL

God forbid you take a whole parking spot. Then you get dirty looks from all the cagers or they back into your bike. Most of my friends ask why I don't park up on the sidewalk or between spots. You are my answer. LOL!

I put 158 miles and a new back tire on the ride today. A Metzler M7. hopefully it will last a while, and I can get a front tire to match it soon!

Installed the motodynamics smoke integrated tail light and fender eliminator!

+1 on custom led. I used for my signals 2 years ago and holding up fine.

New front tire and oil change. And a new headlamp! Low Beam went out Sunday morning right before a ride. 123 miles with new rummer all around. So far, the tires perform wonderfully!

I personally don't understand smoked tail lights. I would want everyone to see me on such a small vehicle, especially at night. But to each their own I guess
