Turns out you can divide by zero.

Dividing by zero = infinity.

infinity/infinity = 1 also.

Yes... apparently they've updated the "order of operations" and replaced powers with exponents. Exponents were called "powers" when I went to school. Geez... I feel old this morning. (LOL)!!

I guess the only thing I get to look forward to is getting that AARP discount, soon.

Unless you have a scientific calculator, you won't get the right answer. Standard calculators just work with simple equations (i.e. it's really running 40+40=80, then 80x0= 0, then 0+1=1.) It's not actually calculating 40+40x0+1=.

Your method works if you switch the P's around, I agree PEMDAS works better as it doesn't reuse a letter.

Getting the response you expected? 80 % seems about right I would have hoped for closer to 100% but you know.

Maybe, but it is not written that way, therefore that is not the equation
and there is no parenthesis present, which means it doesn't get treated like it has them
