Annual Ride To Work Day is Monday, June 17, 2013

Ride your motorcycle or scooter on this day to demonstrate:
-The number of motorcyclists to the general public and to politicians.
-That motorcyclists are from all occupations and all walks of life.
-That motorcyclists can reduce traffic and parking congestion in large cities.
-That motorcycles are for transportation as well as recreation.
-That motorcycling is a social good.

i have been avoiding riding my bike, i have a lot of tools and been going up the main highways so i have been kinda skeptical lol but will make an effort if i work that monday to ride to work

I'm doing my bit.

When people see me riding by in the bus lanes, and reducing the queues on the road after work, it must get other people thinking to also buy a bike to reduce congestion for the other car users. I've noticed a lot more younger people with motorbikes on the roads this last 2 years, it seems to have had a jump in popularity.

Of course you wouldn't spend your coin on a bike and do all the tests and training days unless you were also passionate about motorbikes.

Maybe some people start off on a cheap scooter, then find out they really like it later ?

I agree with Jimmy (lwclancers). Obviously don't do it if you really don't think you can't handle it, but you can only control yourself and your bike no matter where you are and how much experience you have. Wear your gear, keep your bike in good shape and look twice (ALWAYS!!!). Probably not as bad as you think when you have a pretty nimble bike. The FZ6R can out maneuver any car I've ever driven and there have been quite a few. I've driven in VA/DC/Baltimore corridor and I'd ride/drive there any day over some places I been (especially Puerto Rico). Would NEVER ride there. My car was bumped on a regular basis and it was okay and encouraged to run red lights after dark. If I had my bike there I wouldn't even slow down for lights.

Put me in as a "yes" for riding to work today.

I like to take advantage of the HOV (carpool) lanes. Motorcycles are allowed in the HOV lane, here.

Since my wife can't drive until her Doctor said so... I'm stuck driving the cage Mondays and Wednesdays to her clinical (Hospital) The rest of the week she has a ride to school.
