I know old Hondas. Not so much the Yammy. Given what I know, I'd be thinking oil pump or a blockage in the filter.

I am unused to having a radiator on a bike. Assuming your antifreeze is good and the ambient temp is agreeable? I'm still going to say oil. Motorcycles ran for decades without radiators. If the coolant is frozen, that would obviously impact engine temp, but I just don't see that happening on your ride.

I'm going with some sort of blockage with the oil. Just my 2c. Hope it helped you see things from another angle.

Everything is fine. Coolant is less than a year old, fan ok, level ok, oil is fine foe another 1500 miles (20W50) might need to go back to 10W40 maybe?

The spark plug did a double stint... 13K miles... Ill change that first...

I was riding this morning to Miami and it was fine without the DBK. 185-188 The funny thing is... the temos were climbing slowly and reach 186. It was flicking between 186-188 but never saw 187? ( That how bored i was on 95) lol

Anyobe has the same issue. Cant see 187F??? Might need to call Yamaha USA for an answer!!! Thats BS!!!:D

Past few days....Removed decals, replaced oem windscreen, replaced oem mirrors, installed TRex sliders, installed new ProGrips, installed FE. Just a few more things and she'll be "perfect."
 
Rode 94 with some friends yesterday. Got her home, washed, chain cleaned lubed and readjusted, polished, got her ready for another ride this morning only to wake up with severe sinus pain and a sore throat.:facepalm::thumbdown: No matter how much I tried to isolate myself from my sick wife all week I still got the crud she's had. Working in a medical facility doesn't help either.
 
Installed my DMP tail light and my gear indicator, also download the Marthy maps to the juice box. Now the bike sound perrrrfect. Have to wait until next weekend to test the maps.:(

Is the mixture of water and antifreeze right? that could cause it to get to operating temp quicker...As long as your not going over your okay though. Usually its 50 - 50 mix, up north they tent to run more 60 antifreeze 40 % water... down there you might be more 60% water 40 % antifreeze? But check the manual.

I have some 50% mix in there and it's about 1 year old. The temps were 198-205 yesterday on my way back from Miami. I install my new generation of exhaust last week so I can finally fix mine (the first one ever built) It never been right... the diameter of the tube where the Viper can goes is a snug too small for the can to fit right. The only think I can think about is that the new exhaust flow much better than the previous one and the bike run a bit lean.

So I'll fix and swap exhaust, change my 13K miles spark plug and see how it goes. The bike was fine a week ago...


UPDATE:

Plugs were fine. Gap was still spot on and the color was great too. It could use a bit more fuel... so I had just a snug in the driving range to see if it will fix the problem. It kind of help a bit, so I will had a bit some more. I don't have a O2 sensor plug on this exhaust since I'm using it for the time being while I fix mine. I'm amaze how much more fuel it need... that mean it flows better :) More HP???

Our yellow FZ6R is a hot bike, no doubt. The darn Roman Numeral "FZ6R" just isn't cutting it. Granted, it's just my opinion, but the Roman Numerals just seem like a stuck-on stamp, wherever you put them.

The strength of sportbike styling lies in the angles going into the curves. Any pretty sportbike you look at, it's all about the angles in the right places, smoothly flowing into the curves.

If you're looking for a graphic that screams to the world that it's a FZ6R, I'd design something really bold and large, covering the fairing that is both angular, and flowing into those sexy curves.

Otherwise, I'd tone it down. Those Roman Numerals, a little smaller, might work really well on the swingarm. In yellow. Understated and stylish.

Here is where I get honestly harsh. You paid money for the decal, and you really want to use it... I'm thinking really hard...

I just can't see where the decal is going to appeal to me personally. I'm sorry, bro, but you want your bike to look cool and sexy and standout. I honestly cannot see where that decal is going to help. :(

It's just my opinion, and I'm a seriously opinionated son-of-a-gun. I'm trying to look at it as a non-interested third party might see the bike though, and it just doesn't fit. :(

While you have a point in the idea of what you are saying I need to say this.
Stop calling them "Roman Numerals", those are not roman numerals, in the slightest. Roman numerals ar the Latin letter system for numbers (numerals).

The letters are more styled to a times new roman type font, which is modeled after Roman symbols and letters.

Friday afternoon starts my spring break, I could design a file for you to take to the guy to have decals cut but that all depends on him letting me know what kind of files he would need and also what type of information he would like to have in the file. I can set things up just about anyway needed.

I do need to get some stuff made up for myself to put on the Ninja 1k I might do that over this weekend.
 
I'm not forcing to use them, I like them and actually love the current placement. I appreciate all the feedback though!
 
If I was gone every weekend for long ride, I'll get the Vstrom for sure. But for the 2-3 ride a year that I do, the 6R is set up perfectly for a Sport-Touring bike.

I like the FZ8 a lot. With few mod this bike can rock! But for a 1K more I can get a StTR and be done with it! A little bit more maintenance than a Yam, but shouldn't be an issue for me. LOL
