Stock Exhaust Now Too Loud

Okay so previous owner "drilled out the baffles mate" but drilled a few too many and now it's too loud for me. Although it does sound pretty deep and badass, I'm looking for a cheap fix to quiet the stock exhaust without going back to the original because it's pissing off the neighbors (and my eardrums).

I bought a bag of 4 stroke muffler packing material thinking I could somehow open the muffler and pack it inside in a little section.. But looks like I'd have to cut open the top/bottom of the muffler to do this?

Also the little chrome end piece is just for decoration. Anyone have any ideas? Homemade baffles?

If you're cutting the breadbox open, you may aswell just weld the drilled holes over.
As far as packing with glass fibre, dont bother

maybe I am getting old or something lol, i find my exhaust too freaking loud too as i had modified my stock exhaust(2 1/2 inch hole). i didn't expected it to be that loud to be honest. it sounds awesome but kinda missed my quietness now.:soapbox:

My neighbors above me made me change my garage door motor cause it woke their baby... I gotta be careful with noise in my area :Slap:

Thought I'd save it if I ever went back to stock to sell, but I don't think I'll need it. I'll sell it. I just pulled my stock exhaust out of storage moving a few things around.

It literally has 2 days of riding, around 450 miles on it. Day 3 I pulled it, day 4 was Marthy day (used a second hand oem exhaust). You won't get any newer than this without giving your first born to Yamaha!

Ya, I'm one of those guys... I don't care. On the other hand I keep the rev down in residential area. 90% of the time everyone has their window close with the AC flat out anyway so it help a bit. I use the DBK on the 6R. The FZ09 is a bit louder even at idle...

yeah, I wound up putting the dbk back in, plenty loud enough with the shorty Viper...

Might dump my stock exhaust on ebay. Nobody wanted it????
