So here I am the day BEFORE I get my frame sliders and spools, the weather is absolutely beautiful in an otherwise crappy looking week here in CT, so I decided to take a nice long relaxing ride.

An hour and 40 minutes later im coming down the exit ramp that I don't usually take to get home, when I proceed to notice that they not only have redone the bottom of the ramp they have also used liberal amounts of sealer on it instead of just replacing the area in question.

Yup, officially a member of the "I just dumped it club.", only took a month. . . .

sigh . . . . . .:(

Old areas of wide slick paint, new sealer and a sunny day conspired to give me a complete OH S%$T moment as the bike went out. Fortunately for me it stayed somewhat upright with me partially under it so I got out of it with just a small (less than dime sized maybe) scratch on the case.

SO a word to all, watch out for road repairs this spring as the towns and states all start in on the spring cleanup.

Oh and if anybody knows how to make that scratch look good or can recommend good paint or something for the case please let me know.

Yeah the Irony Gods are up there chuckling at me as i'm typing this, I know they are. :)

Sorry to hear about the dump. Glad to hear it's very minor, and you don't seem to have taken any injuries.

Yep, can't stand that road snot... Atlanta summers soften those road snakes and they become as slippery as motor oil. Keep an eye out for those, and sand/gravel after a storm (had to slalom through some of it today).

Ride safe...

Sucks for sure. If the timing would go any way, it would be that way. It's life's little way of letting us all know we're not as $hit hot as we think we are. Glad to hear you're ok and somewhat laughing about it.

They're oiling (tarring) all the roads again near my house and then they dump crushed stone down. F'n aholes!

"f'n aholes" u say...

should he have said: "f'ed a$$holes"?

Shouldn't have said anything. Pisses me off when people make derogatory comments about how someone is doing their job. like they know more than the workers do. :backtotopic:

That hurts! LOL! Had a car almost hit me because it slid on my road as I was coming out of my driveway and no one does the speed limit since they use our road as a through way. My township has the highest taxes in the area and they won't resurface the roads properly. I stand by my comment 100 percent. I'm not knocking the guys doing the work, but rather the guys telling them to do it.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Sent from the one and only Samsung Galaxy S4.

That's the problem. Too fast for conditions.
Others have mentioned having to be careful on the tar snakes; not turning them into an excuse. Roads are not race tracks, they are not going to be perfect. I guess if they resurfaced them every spring, no one would complain a out the extra cost or inconvenience.

Just can't please everyone.

damn, that sucks.
Is the damage just scratched paint?

I ordered my frame sliders for my FZ8 and wont be here until tomorrow, I am hoping that nothing happens while I am out riding till then. The weather is just so nice :D
