You still want a how to for my mirror install? Or just a how to for installing mirrors period? Finally got to take my bike out with the new mirrors.
Sure My carbon fiber ones came today! Can't wait to put them on.
Didn't really think about it, but you had to remove the mirrors anyways to get to the headlight.5 pages later....she has begun ...Fairing are about to come off...queue the stripper music haha
Thanks Don. Valley Cycle Center is so picky. When I went last year the guy questioned me 5 times whether they were legal...he didnt want to believe they were STOCK signals. He also said tinted/smoked windscreens were illegal....yet half the bikes on the showroom had them. Sigh.
Oh, I updated the reserved posts at the beginning with my break down day Was fun.
Ill try to go along with the sequence of pics...
1. Remove the lower triangular piece behind the wheel connecting the 2 fairings. 4 bolts hold it on
2. Remove the 4 upper bolts on the fairings
3. Remove the 2 lower bolts on the fairings
4. On the upper fairing bolts, there are thin plastic washers behind them, make sure you get them off so they dont scratch when being put back on
5. Behind where the lower triangular piece was, there is a pin-fastener. Press the little tab IN, this will unlock the fastener, and you call pull it out.
6. Behind the fairing, disconnect the turn signal: Pop up that little tab just a little, and the connections will separate
7. Do the other turn signal (this is the right side, from the POV of the front of the bike looking back and under the fairing)
8. Remove the upper piece between the fairing and the dash: there is one pin-fastener at the top, and a bolt at the bottom
9. Pull this piece back towards the tank...once loose rotate UP...the middle lip will then come loose more easily (seen in the left of the pic)
10. Remove the 2 pin-fasteners on the dash.
Thanks! If you were in a hurry and knew what you were doing, you could do this in like 45 minutes! I took my time because I was taking pics, marking my baggies haha, and also sort of studying how everything would go BACK together. Im still leary on a couple of things going in reverse order...trying to remember where all the pieces slide back together, etc.
The only thing I need to go look for is the best way to splice the angel eye into the turn signal/running light. I know I could hard splice, but, then if I ever needed to remove it id have to cut. So I want a quick disconnect...didnt look too close at it today. But I have time. Ill hit up yey ole trusty YouTube for some ideas. Im very visual haha.
I've never had a sticky before. {insert jokes here...}

Ok, I like the disconnect that MistahT used for his speed sensor wire. I guess I have to check radioshack. It clamps onto the wire and then has a blade connector that connects into it.Thanks. I believe JT said Blue was running light, black was ground. Simple enough...but I know that wire leading to the blinker is short, and I want to somehow use the disconnect (I know the angel eye wires have the quick disconnect from looking at JT's post)
I think Im picturing what you're describing...if you find a link or pic, please let me know!Ok, I like the disconnect that MistahT used for his speed sensor wire. I guess I have to check radioshack. It clamps onto the wire and then has a blade connector that connects into it.
