I called Vance & Hines today...

Not that im trying to take away from any of Marthy's success or anything, these would have probably cost more than the TBR anyway.

I recently realised that I only live a hour away from Vance & Hines factory.So I gave them a call out of curiosity.If they were working on anything, I was even planning on asking if I could ride up to their factory to take pics for all of you (wich should have helped publicity id imagine).

I told the secretary that I own a current model Yamaha, wich they didn't offer any products for.She kindly connected me with someone to talk to, Craig.

I told Craig that I own a Fz6r, and was interested on any products they might be working on for my model.He told me I'm the first owner that contacted him about this model (sounded like he didn't know our bike exsists) and for that reason, they won't be offering anything for us in the future.

So I informed him that I live within a hour, and that I'm a member on my bikes forum and have witnessed alot of people buy TBR systems.He kindly gave me a few more seconds of time, I even offered my bike as a R&D vehicle.He said hed make a memo and look into it for consideration without asking for any contact info, but doubts they would offer anything in the future since i'm the only person interested.

So I guess I will never consider a V&H product in my entire lifetime.They can build their success from the chopper community.They might offer an exhaust for a R1, but I own 3 Yamahas and V&H hasn't offered me a product for any of my POPULAR models.TBR has choices already for both of my Yamaha 4strokes in comparison.So why mix and match unless its for an amazing deal like Marthy offers.

No problem, its sad but true.

Also being a garage, that builds race engines and crap, youd think all local business would be welcome.They probably could have simply invited me up, and found an "off the shelf" combination that would have worked.Alot of our forum members have accomplished homemade exhaust using r6 headers....You only have to dry fit it once

Oh well, I was just curious about supporting local business and getting more available for us.
 
Disappointing story. They make a really sexy slip on for the FZ1, but it was backordered and I'm about the least patient person on earth so I got a Yosh system. I still like their product based solely on how it would look with the overall theme of my bike. I hate to support bad service, but I would sell my Yosh and get their slip on for my bike in a heartbeat.
 
thats funny, because a guy i know in so cal, called up FMF and did the same as you, they took his bike for 3 weeks for R&D....( cbr 250r) they gave him his bike back with a brand new FMF full racing exhaust on his bike.... and from what i recall he didnt pay a dime for it....

would be nice to have one for our bike....

I forgot all about that..Im sorry but that struck the funny bone.Not the accident, I was worried about lil Fz.

Now that you mention it, I remember that famous V&H sound vividly SSCCRRAAPPEE lol

And thats exactly why Flying Machine Factory is highly regarded.They aren't very big on the street yett, but with that attitude it won't be long until they are.

Its hard to find a off road machine that FMF hasn't already covered.

You should mail your bike to your buddy and get the first FMF on a 6r lol :cool:

hahaha from east coats to west coast then expect to get her back in one piece.... i dont know after waiting so long for my title im not sure if id have the patience to take such a risk :p however id love to have an fmf exhaust on my bike!

yeah i think they even make exhausts for the new side by sides....like the kawasaki tyrex

ironicly so did i XD but i dont think my email came out sounding the way i wanted to, however i did invite them to the forum if they were in search of an R&D bike lol
 
I hope with more than one of us showing interest they will jump on it I'd love to have one of there systems and they tend to be fairly priced
 
I tried the same thing with Muzzy's here in Bend(if you guys have ever heard of them). They're sorta big here on the west coast. I actually rode my bike over to them and they looked at it and at least they took my information down. But they never called. I called them and they said they don't have enough demand for them to prototype my bike.

Isn't Competition Werkes somewhere there in Oregon too? Anyone check with them? They have a really nice low mount exhaust for the Street Triple.
 
Are they still in Brownsburg, IN? I use to live there and drove by there shop many time.
 
TBR is laughing all the way to the bank. Guess none of these companies wants $700-$1000 a bike like TBR.

I know right if just one of them would produce one cheaper they would dominate the market for our bike
