HID Xenon conversion question

Intsalled a new xenon light for the fz6r, but i noticed the bulb had a metal covering half the bulb, do i remove this?

Did you use just a drop in H4 style HID bulb in the stock housing? If you did that shield is to attempt to prevent you from blinding other drivers on the road. Reflector housings are not designed for HID bulbs and do not spread the light properly, you end up with a massive spread.

that is what i have done, what would you recommend? what about the direction of the shield its facing?

What would be recommended is doing an HID retrofit, you can get everything you need from https://www.theretrofitsource.com/

That's the only proper way to install HID's on your bike, and will get you the best light output.

I have the hids that do hi and low. I removed the metal cover get better light on the road.
