that is way too much work for only 30 horsepower if you're going to do an engine swap might as well put a r 1 motor in it bahahahaI think Marthy is hunting that elusive 98hp mark. Buy a FZ6 engine and do the swap, saves lots of time and tinkering.
Me and the wife visit few apartment over the weekend and we were joking around about having a garage big enough for 2 bikes. She said: You not getting a 2nd bike if I don't get a 2 bedroom apartment. We sigh last night for a 2 bedrooms apartment with attach garageI think Marthy is hunting that elusive 98hp mark. Buy a FZ6 engine and do the swap, saves lots of time and tinkering.
There you go, bigger bike, MORE POWER (FZ1) is always good.Me and the wife visit few apartment over the weekend and we were joking around about having a garage big enough for 2 bikes. Your idea of FZ6 engine sound good... But I might go for the liter bike (FZ1) or get a real Sport-Touring bike and keep the 6R to beat around town in a more sporty version. And the wife can ride the 6R on weekends and learn.
I will... just need to find $150.00 laying around! There a bike night here every Tuesday with free dyno run but I like to go on the same dyno since I have my last run there. There you go, bigger bike, MORE POWER (FZ1) is always good.
Are you going to dyno again after the v-stacks and air box wrap for some comparisons?
Curious to see.
Other than him I don't think so.Anyone do the v stacks Marthy posted? Dyno results? Trim length? Etc...
I don't see how they will work in our air box. What about running these; made for 03-05 r6. being the same base engine, apart from the different power set up and cylinder heads, these would work?

Great thread bump for a useless post. 10HP on a bike is quite a bit.Yeah, all this modding for about 10HP. Woopee.
Just going to save my dough and wait till I'm off my P's and go straight to a big bike big. 1098 duke me thinks.
The stock fz6r is a turd I hated it and wanted to sell at after 1 month I did a lot of these upgrades and that hept mqe riding the bike for a year it totally changes the bike in makes it feel a lot closer to a real 600 I ended up just buying z1000 in the endYeah, all this modding for about 10HP. Woopee.

And who doesn't like a challengeI was never intended to turn the 6R into a rocket ship. It was all fun and good learning tool to play with the 6R and try to improve the overall performance of the bike. 10-12WHP is not that much but on a 460something lbs bike is quite noticeable.
All that play around and learning thing was good enough to bring my buddy FZ8 from 89 WHP to 112 WHP... and still playing/working on it. We all have different hobbies.
If all mater to me is pure HP... I'll have a Tuono park in the Man cave and call it the day... but it won't be has fun!
i took my bike from 125 whp to 150 and im glad i did!!! and toook the weight down from 481lbs to 450lbs!!! modding is addictive and fun!!!I was never intended to turn the 6R into a rocket ship. Awesome! Working on the FZ-09 now... doing everything from scratch. Exhaust and the only fuel controller available... but ya, having a blast modding and be the first one out there with an exhaust tuned! Scheduling dyno tomorrow for this week.i took my bike from 125 whp to 150 and im glad i did!!! and toook the weight down from 481lbs to 450lbs!!! modding is addictive and fun!!!
dude 5hp of my gains is from modding the ecu and adding an ignition advancer. The full exhaust, fuel controller, and airbox mod only gave me 17hp. Then add the ignition advancer for another 5+hp. You gotta find a way to get an advacer on that pig.Awesome! Working on the FZ-09 now... doing everything from scratch.
