FYI - stock headlight - durability

Just an FYI for those that have not replaced the stock headlight -

Mine lasted just 20,000 miles

Keep in mind yours may last longer or shorter depending on: how often you use the high beam, the condition of the roads you ride (how rough are they), how many times you start and stop (shut off the bike).

I replaced my stock bulb with one of these....

Be careful as most reviews that I have read on the "combination" bulbs (9003/hb2/h4) are meant for cars and not motorcycles. Thus have shorter lives due to the increased vibration.

WOW! That must be really short then. I want a pair of these for my Blazer that needs new lights as the current bulbs are getting kinda weak, but I read that the average life is about 8 months.

Some of the reviews were 6 months to a year in a car and 3-4 months on a bike. I would imagine that some of it has to do with people touching the bulb too, but there is no way to verify that.

He lives in Indiana though. So he needs something to use for the last, HOPEFULLY 6-8 weeks of the increasingly cold riding season.

IF I do upgrade to the Ninja 1k or even a FZ1 this year anymore, I would look at doing the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra headlights also, then do the HID Projector upgrade over winter so I wouldnt lose any riding time while doing the upgrade.

I plan too, once I can see how much diffenece the HID makes... and the funds are available for that....work is jerking me around on my expense reports so I am out of pocket a little bit of change!

I have been waiting to see Spawns... I met Rabbitman last month... I know he is on the up and up... not that there was any doubt....

He would definitely get my money before everyone else as I have seen his quality and its second to none....actually been thinking about having my focus done too. Again its all about the benjamins!
