Vmax???? Far from it. Just because its a v-twin does not mean bad. The Super Duke is a sick naked bike. The Vmax is still a cruiser IMO.
This is the same motor as the RC8 R pretty much.
The original 990 Super Duke had a V2 as well anyways.
Honda's RC51 has a V Twin. That bike is sick as hell as well.
SV's were V Twin as well.Some Ducs , etc. Quite a few out there.

I tested a VFR 800 before I got my FZ6R. It's kinda heavy but not as big as I expected from my research. Probably about the same speed as the FZ, just feels faster. The new VFR 1200 might be a good fit for you.
The zx14 would sure be over kill, that's a given....
but maybe you should consider something like the ninja 1000 like I have. It's a big bike but it has the comfortable positioning...
the zx14 is more supersport position but it's a hell of a bike as well. I do hope to have one some day.
There are a decent number of options if you just want something more street fighter type position/ touring styled.

I think Aprillia made a 50cc motorcycle. Manual trans and everything, not a scooter. That's probably wasn't overkill......
I own a 82 Honda MB5, actually 3. All I had to say mine was the fastest... 70 MPH on a 49.9cc!!! I was about 134 lbs back then too... help a lot. :wreck:
Maxed out my 150cc engine-swapped Ruckus at 66mph on GPS. But that had a cvt.
Let me guess, you have 3 because 1 runs and the other two are parts bikes?
I crash the first one, the second one was a beat up one that I fixed up and I found the 3rd one in mint condition. Still to these days I regret ever selling the 3rd one. Those bike still goes for $1000-1500 when you can find one on Ebay. That was a 2 stroke 49.9cc with 5 speed and clutch, just like a real bike. They were legal to drive at 14 yo on the road in Quebec like a scooter, just twice as fast! In those years Yamaha came out with the YSR50. I use to race them all the time and we were quite even until a pop the 5th gear and :jerk: Good bye! LOL
I don't have any pic of mine on my PC at work, but it was just like this one with straight handlebar and yes... a Marthy tune pipe...lol
