does anyonw have experience with expanded metal?

I created a bellypan by cutting the fairings. However, as noted by another member in the streetfighter section, it's kinda weird from certain angles, especially the fact you can look right through it from the top. I'm thinking of using something to block that gap. My search has lead me to expanded metal, the kind used in car grills. I have never used it, and all the websites I found are a little confusing as I just need a little piece and want the holes and design to be right.
 
Try some of the extruded SS mesh available from your local hardware store.
Has been used plenty of times for extra radiator guards and stone guards for engine bays, pretty cost effective to rig up too!

If anyone is using that stuff for a rad gaurd. Pro tip is cable tie shade cloth or similar to the back... Yes it will reduce cooling slightly so a wider weave is better. However it will protect from smaller stones that would wedge between the fins...
