Wow. The furthest I've gone on F-Trip is like 22 miles. I was sweating bullets trying to get to a gas station.
F-trip????? wtf is that? and how do you get it up on the display.

can anyone tell me exactly how many miles we're suppose to get on a full tank of gas? my FZ6R is all stock. I normally fill up my tank around 130-140 miles and I still have one bar left on the fuel gauge.
Depending on how much highway, I usually go between 150 and 170 (including F-Trip miles) before fueling up. I'm all stock as well.
I typically try not to let my F-trip get over 25 miles just to be on the safe side. I'm getting about 200 miles per tank now with Marthy's Touring map rev D.

I figure mine has a little over 1.25 gallons at that point.
Careful running it out of gas like that. The fuel pump uses the fuel for lubrication and you can burn it up running it dry.
YEP! Most of the race car I worked on... if you ran out of gas, change the fuel pump!
how do u fill the reserve if you use it?
On my cruiser you have to flip a fuel lever and fill that, then flip it back and fill the main tank....looked in owners manual but didnt see how its done or is it automaticlly topped off when u fill the bike?
There is no "reserve" - there's a single tank - you put gas in it, it fills up. You ride it, and eventually the bike decides you've ridden enough (a sensor in the tank maybe) and simulates "reserve" by flashing the F-trip thing on the console.
On your cruiser, you probably didn't have a separate "reserve" tank to fill. It was probably a single tank with two intakes - one reaching higher into the tank and one way down at the bottom. With the petcock in the non-reserve position, you suck gas through the intake reaching higher into the tank. When you've used up all of the gas above that intake, you need to switch to reserve and then you can suck up all of the gas (and crud) in the lower part of the tank.
