Left work early today. Power went out. Walked around the corner before leaving and saw this.

I only live about a mile and a half from my work, but luckily we still have power.

Yeah, its been nasty all day. Was curious how it was out in Redmond. Looks like you are getting it too. I came home for lunch and saw garbage cans flying down the road and followed by a pumpkin rolling down the road haha.

Just rode home from Portland to SW Beaverton (Cooper Mountain). Huge wind gusts, standing water, poor visibility, slow cagers, a couple of inches of rain... what an awesome ride!

Some notes:

1. Recently installed some new Michelin PR3s. Absolutely fantastic tires in the wet, including the conditions today. I felt in way more control than all of the cagers around me. Would definitely buy these again!

2. My Tourmaster Caliber overpants had lost their waterproofness after about a year (I learned this the hard way a couple of weeks ago). I tried to re-waterproof them with some Nikwax spray the guy at REI recommended. It didn't get good reviews on the website, but it sure work for me, so YMMV. (Also, REI members are entitled to a refund if the product doesn't work satisfactorily, so it is worth trying.)

3. I learned today that I need to treat my jacket and gloves! Guess I'll do that if and when they ever dry out! :)

Glad you made it. I sure would not have wanted to ride today!

Update!

UPDATE:
The Nikwax spray has worked wonderfully. Both the jacket and pants have done well in the rain since applied a couple of weeks ago.

However, I noticed that the spray has made my pants slippery which is especially noticeable during heavy braking! What makes it even worse is that one of the TechSpec Tank Grips fell off on one side and I can't get it to stick back on.

Any thoughts on how to reapply the tank grip or do I just need to order a new one?
