Hey guys!

I'm a new owner of a FZ-6R. The last owner straight piped it because they liked it really loud. I love how obnoxious it is, but not the hearing damage.

My question is:

Do you guys have any recommendations for a new exhaust system? I've been looking up different systems, but videos don't do them justice.

A lot will depend on how much you want to spend. I went with the Leo Vince underbody full system, but they are pricey. I love the looks and sound. I also had a power commander installed and then got the bike dyno tuned after all that to get the best performance out of the new exhaust.

I did a DIY 2-piece exhaust with a stock 03-05 R6 header and an eBay slip-on muffler. You can see it in my build thread on here. The volume and sound are a lot better than I expected and if you want to tone it down more, the slip-on makes it really easy to just pop a dB killer in. I think all-in it cost me around $150-$180. And that's not just the header, slip-on, and new exhaust port gaskets, but also including an eBay dB killer, 03-05 R6 oil pan, 03-05 R6 oil pan gasket, and the one extra bolt the R6 pan needs.

Straight pipes?!?! My condolences, that must sound hideous lol. Depending on where your pipe exits, you could just buy a slip on from Delkevic, Black Widow etc. for around $200 or any other can that has a 2" inlet.

I put a Hindle titanium on mine and love the way it sounds and looks. Ixil makes a pretty sweet exhaust for the Fz6r too and I was going to get it but it weighs basically the same as the stock exhaust. Imo though, it looks awesome and comes with a couple different db killers so you can get the level of sound you want.

If you like the sound, keep the set up. I always advise to ride with ease plugs. I use my range ear plugs.
