Hello! This is my first post on this forum after a couple months of reading around on here.
I had a question concerning what I was told by my uncle was detached airbox piping. Together, we were installing the black widow full exhaust system and motodynamic tail tidy + sequential lights. We had to take the take off to do this and upon doing so he pointed out that pipes coming out of what he thinks is the airbox, were all not connected. I've had this bike for about a month, put on 1 thousand kilometres and bought the bike from a dealer. It was derestricted from the previous owner and the dealer sold it this way. I'll attach photos of the airbox but could someone tell me if these pipes are supposed to be connected? We left them detached just encase it was intentional for the derestriction or something (clearly, not sure) and because the bike was running fine from what I could tell, we left it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, it would help me alot to know whether this is bad for the bike, intentional, reducing performance, whether it's even the airbox🤣 anything would help. Thanks alot!1000043058.webp

Yes those should all be connected to the air box. You didn't hurt anything by not having them hooked up but they are supposed to be.

There would be no reason to intentionally leave them this way. The previous owner probably forgot them and the dealer never lifted the tank. Or the dealer did it because I've seen dealers do some stellar work too 😂

Interesting, thanks for the reply! How come this wouldn't have an effect at all on the bike? Would this not restrict airflow or have any effect at all?

I'm not sure, I just meant not to worry as I'm sure it had no I'll effects on your bike. Definitely connect them as they should be.
