Show off your man cave

I saw a similar forum over on the Triumph675 site, so since I just revamped my garage, I thought I'd show it off and give you all a chance to show off yours too.

Here's how my garage nook looked after reclaiming it from my wife's girly stuff, and putting in the new gun safe and workbench I picked up at Costco:

Then after a couple of days of rearranging and fooling around with the pegboard, bolting down the workbench staples of vice and grinder, and installing a new TV, here's the near finished product without the bikes:

And with the bikes:

Note: That ordinary looking fridge to the left in that last pic is actually a duel tap keggerator. I couldn't in good conscience call it a man cave without one.

It's an ABBA stand. Got it for my Triumph to get the rear and front off the ground at the same time so I can swap out my forks for the used Daytona ones I picked up, but I'll probably go ahead and get the adapter for the 6R at some point in the near future. Works pretty slick. Blue Streak Racing in Canada sells them here in North America.

That looks NICE!!!!
Would show off mine. The wife lets me have the whole garage for my stuff, but predominately the 3rd car spot, as the 2 car stall is packed with the truck/car. Then we still have boxes from our move spread throught the garage to unpack yet..

Finally got myself a toolchest to organize most of my tools, so I am not misplacing them all the time.

I will take that Gunsafe off your hands though! Too many gun cases all around too.

I got two man caves lol. Not bad for living in a townhouse! Also a pic of my honda xr 100 i had when i was like 11-15 years old. Loved that thing! Its hangin up in the garage lol.

My 'mancave' started simply as a place to watch the extra TV in the guestroom. But, it slowly evolved into a personal theater/guitar/motogear/longboard/dog wrestling/junk room - ha ha, it is so much worse than any room I ever occupied as a teenager - suprised my wife tolerates it, we have to lock it when guests come over. But, it really is a 'cave', blacked out window and surrounded by all my junk, with a pad on the floor with pillows and comforter for dog wrestling and movie watching, its my tiny retreat from the world, and I love it! And, no I won't post pictures of it, cause it is a gross mess, ha ha, but I wouldn't change a thing.

I actually kind of have 2. I have the office man cave with the computer, motorcycle gear, pictures of hot chicks and gangsters on the wall (slightly invaded by Kristens desk that she pretty much never uses)

Then there's the garage. Kristens car takes up half usually, but I have my side with the bike, work bench, tools, TV, etc... If we owned the house, the garage would be a finished garage and I'd have a lot more comforts out there than I do. (fridge, flat screen on the wall, etc...) but never sure how long we're going to be here so I'm not investing in that kind of money.

That's a sweet setup, Jon. My next project is to turn my step daughter's old bedroom into a game/theater room. That's where the Foosball table comes in. Then I'd have two places in the house I could call my own. Though to be honest, while that corner of the garage is mine, the other 3/4 of it belongs to my wife's stuff, ha ha.

Thanks. My vision of what I want is very different than what I have, but oh well. I'm kind of a neat freak and minimalist when it comes to stuff i.e. shit you haven't used in 10 years, why do you keep it? (other than childhood things like my old football jerseys, pictures, etc... obviously.) My garage has played storage unit for the whole family for probably 10 years. I just now as of 3 weeks ago got all but the last few thing that don't belong to me but take up valuable space out of there. All the furniture that's covered up in that picture starting to the right of my tool box, including the thing my mtn bike stand is sitting on, isn't mine. It hasn't been in in a house for a decade. But "It's good quality stuff, we're not getting rid of that." So you let it rot in a garage instead of selling it and getting some money from it since it's NEVER going to be used in a house by you again. But, as we rent from my inlaws, I don't get as much say in what goes in there and what doesn't. (very sore subject as you can probably tell lol) If I owned that place, the work bench would be ripped out and replaced with a nice properly built and painted work bench and storage unit, I'd have a separate area of a work bench for the drill press, bench grinder, vice, etc... the walls would be finished, drywalled, and painted, drop ceiling would be installed, the floor would have the grey paint chip coating on it, and I'd have a fridge, padded bar stool(s), flat screen on the wall, new tool box... man what else could I put in there. :thumbup:

When we moved into this townhouse, this tiny garage was TRASHED! Holes in the walls, trash everywhere, broken stuff, and shelves about to collapse. I guess that's what you get with a foreclosure. Had to do some major work to get it where it is now.

With nothing else inside, you can sort of fit a car, but you can barely get out. Now that I've put a work bench and stuff in there, you could probably only fit a smart. Living with my wife and her sister, I needed a man cave. Here's where it all happens!

Awesome floor my wife bought me and our bikes, compressor and some fold out stools

A little anal about organization, but you gotta be with such a limited amount of space

Pants and jackets, white board to keep track of oil changes and stuff on the vehicles

Took an old computer from the closet, wall mounted the monitor, internet for pandora, youtube, whatever. Watch old Cannonball Run and stuff while doing oil changes

Dart board

His and hers helmets and boots. Just got a little organizer for nuts, bolts, fuses, etc. Nicer than having to dig through an old coffee can for what you're looking for!

And the coolest part. Snagged a very expensive projector for $50 on craigslist this summer. Some really fancy office was getting all new stuff. Said they used it about a dozen times and the internet said retail was about $1,500! Pictures below are straight on the door, but since we've made a movie-theater style screen and it looks fantastic. Grab some beers and hook up the pc, ps3, whatever.

Spring cleaning started at the girlfriends house as well. We cleaned out the attached 2 car garage and I plan on taking half of it lol. I'll take pictures once we clean the shed and get all the garbage removed.

The photo resolution was total crap from my phone, and then when I tried to manage the attachments from my computer I got all balled up, so I deleted and am redoing the post from the computer in the hopes the photos will work better, so from the top...

When this thread was started I was jealous because my wife and I always rented and just having a covered place for the bike was a pretty big deal. We bought a house in November with a single detached garage, and immediately plugged it with junk, stuff that needed to be stored, and empty boxes and styrofoam from new furniture and appliances. Spring sprung, and I brought my bike home, and so the work began. I stored all the storables properly, made a dump run, and got to work on getting set up. I still have lots to do to finish off, but it's getting there. I need some more A/V components to get the TV working the way I want, and I need to get some posters to decorate, but the gist of it is there. Here's the view from standing in the driveway and from sitting on the couch. I can't wait to watch a MotoGP in there or just unwind after a ride with a beer and some friends.

as a father of four.... my "man cave" does not exist anywhere besides my head....

it will be a few more years until I can reclaim my house and/or to possibly move to a house with a garage...

kids are expensive, both in time and money... time flies and money, what is that?
