Hi all. Just came across a new electric bike. and from all companies, it's a Harley!
First and foremost, please please keep all the harley smack talk to yourself. no one wants to hear that crap. The moment I see that stuff in a thread I immediately stop reading and regard the rest of the thread as junk. It's a waste of time. This forum and it's members are better than that... for the most part. This is another thread to discuss the current and future wave of electric bikes and Harley's influence on them. Not a thread to trash Harley and Harley riders.
Anyway, I went to Harleys main site and it's right on the homepage. I think it's one of the better looking electric bikes out there. Unfortunately, they said they will still be touring the bike throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe through 2015. So if this bike ever gets to production it won't be for several years.
As some of you may have noticed, whenever I come cross a new electric bike or electric bike company I'll put it on this site. I find electric transportation interesting as that is the way everything is headed. As for bikes, I'm not a fan of the one speed electric transmissions. That's what scooters are for. (I think the Zero electric bikes are that way). Nothing against scooters, but when it comes to a motorcycle I find part of the thrill is ripping through the gears!! I've seen electric bikes that replicate the transmissions of gas bikes with several gears, but I've never ridden one. I do dig the tablet-like instrument panel and the under-the-handlebar mirrors. Those are a nice change that keep the bike sleek looking that I haven't seen in other electric bikes, or gas bikes for that matter.
