Okay I really dunno what to do anymore guys. Ive gotten so many reccomendations its unreal. Some people are saying only go with a 500w amp for a 500w sub. Some say to go waaaay past it like 1200w or more depending on the ohms.:confused::confused::confused::(:(:(

At this point im kind of considering it. The only reason why I dislike that idea, is because of it would ruin my trunk space.

I think I may finally understand the whole wiring idea.

Please someone correct me if im wrong, but this should be correct as per what ive learned.

I should be safe, to use this amp:
Sony XplMdâ„¢ XM-ZZR3301 Mono subwoofer amplifier — 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms at Crutchfield.com OR AN AMP OF SIMILAR WATTAGE

with this subwoofer 500w dual 2 ohm:
WoofersEtc.com - SD-2 10D2 - Sundown Audio 10" Dual 2-Ohm Subwoofer
Wiring in parallel, making the total ohm 2 ohms to the amp.

Would this be correct? This would be making around 600watts to the sub, but guessing that they are overestimating, im gunna guess around 450watts actually going into the subwoofer. Would this be a safe load, and proper numbers and everything?
