I'm still trying to fathom how you bought a bike you couldn't make the payments on. I can understand several months later and you lost your job, or got your hours cut — but this had to have been within days. I knew the maximum monthly payment I'd be comfortable with when I walked in to the negotiation. Since you likely took a loss on the bike, you've still got payments for at least a few months to pay the difference off. I'd wait until you've paid those off first before considering another bike. And before you look into financing another bike, sit down, grab a paycheck stub, all your month's bill statements, find out what's left there. Then sort out how much you're spending a month on food, and gas. Now you have your discretionary funds. If you're hourly with no sick or vacation days, I'd factor in a buffer in there. If you like to go out a lot, I'd also factor in your entertainment. Now you'll know what payment you can afford.

If you had to give up your bike because your payments were too high, you probably shouldn't get another bike with payments. Either pay down some of your debt, pickup a part-time job to earn extra income, or pay cash.

It's not about what bike you get, it's about what you can afford. Sounds like you can't afford a bike right now

Bikes are not a necessity and should be treated as a commodity. If you can't afford it then you don't need it, wait a little while until you are more financially sound and then get one.

I agree with this and Alaska.. Because you also need to factor in insurance and maintenance costs for the bike too, and any protective gear replacements as needed.

you're on the right track here, but more like it would be - hp printers have a great rep, but the hot (according to all the mags) printer right now is a samsung, although i really like the looks of this Lexmark. and then there's Brother, i mean how can i not like them when the name has BRO

So guys, I just sold my 2012 FZ6R.. Because well honestly I couldn't afford the payments,

so, not even three days... from which should I buy, to I just sold it, now what should I buy... I didn't check the dates before, just now did...

thread closed... not dealing with this mess again... another thread about hey what bike should I buy, and perma ban...

we don't mind giving advice about the FZ6R.. or heck, when you get your new ride... but... not going to let this turn into another whatever thread...
