Picked up a nail last year, this year a bone fragment. Long ways from home on both occasions, thankfully I had the repair kit with and was back on the road in about 30 minutes.

Wow, as big as that thing is I am surprised it didn't hit the caliper on rotation. Looks like the nails I use for stacking 4x4 walls.

I feel like an idiot, I didn't even see the other end coming out of the side wall, you couldnt do something like that twice. Glad it didn't cause you or the bike to get hurt.
You can't patch the sidewalls period. No tire shop will do that... And as previously discussed a patch is not worth risking your life is the general consensus on that topic but as always to each there own.

Join the club brother, replaced front and back within 3 months of each other this year. Previous tires only had 2500 and 3700 miles on them.
The nail from hell! At least tire didn't go boom and create a bigger issue.

Thats what my friend said too. but i dont think so. cause i inspected the bike before i left the house. when i got to my work, while parking it, looked at the tire and saw something shiny, and hell its a long ass nail!

Yes, bought a new rear tire. cost me around $230 at the yamaha dealer.
