Lowering Link for better handling?

Please, no :spank: I tried searching but can't find the thread I remember reading....

Winter is coming. Without being able to ride my bike, I'm gonna want to work on my bike. I've got the front down between 1 and 1.5 inches and I love the way it feels. I also have a lowering link (1.75?) for the rear but never installed it. I worry the bike won't flick in as nicely if I bring the rear down, BUT I feel like maybe the bike overall will handle better with a lower center of gravity BUT I feel like I read someone says it won't cause the suspension isn't made to work like that.

To lower the rear or not to lower the rear? Will it handle better or handle like crap?

I had mine lowered for a season and while it wasn't exactly worse, it wasn't better. The handling did have quite a different feel for me, more stable but not better. The bike is really stable as it is with the stock height so it wasn't a net gain for me. Plus I still wasn't able to flat foot with sneakers on with a 28/29 inseam. I might be more like a 27/28 inseam...

Either way I felt the bike handled best with the front lowered and the rear at stock height so I took it off. My experience.

I'm 5'10 with long legs. Height has never been an issue. What I'm really craving is something like a street triple, which I can't afford, so trying to make this bike more agile. I bought a lowering link with the lowered kick stand, only installed the kick stand. Just wondering if the link should be on my winter to-do list. I'm thinking I'll skip it. Besides, lowering (in general) would give better handling based on center of gravity, but lowering the rear will slow down turning making the bike feel heavier... right?

If you want to improve handling, get with Racetech and sort out your suspension/springs and SS front brake lines. Would be nice to test a 15mm master cylinder too or go all R1 or R6 master. Try to trim some weight too. Lithium battery is the way to go...
