at first I thought so too but I checked htem at night and they are perfect for running lights.
they are about half or less of the intesity / brightness of the brake lights and turn signals wich is good for now. I need to ther the whole thing down and find the short though.
Your multimeter might help with your tail lights.The continuity setting will look like a upside down horse shoe.This guy shows how to locate a faulty switch on a electric lawn mower that way

It IS the fastest lol... not to rang too far off topic but the yellow was a primary selling point for me, it's one of my favorite colors, and it's extremely visible. It was the best bike at the best price among the used bikes I was looking at at the time.
