I'm hoping one of you guys can shed some light on an issue I'm having. I mentioned it in another thread and got some feedback, but it didn't solve my issue. If I can't figure this out I'm going to have to take my 6R to the shop, heaven forbit.
What the deal is, is that I changed out my front sprocket for a Driven 17 tooth one. In order to install it I had to move the shift linkage piece (pictured below). I guess I didn't reinstall that piece correctly because after I had it all back together and rode it, I immediately noticed the clutch worked differently. By that I mean, pulling it in all the way still disengaged it, but the friction zone where it started to catch was now immediately after beggining to release the lever.
I should note that I have the pazzo knock off adjustable levers and had my clutch lever set as far in as it goes (setting #1). Moving it out to #6 helped a little bit, but when the lever is fully released, it's now difficult for me to reach.
I tried adjusting the slack in the line both on the wheel by the lever, and down on the nuts on the other end (underneath the left fairing), based off the advise I got in the other thread where I mentioned this problem, but that didn't do anything to help.
One other thing to note; also after the sprocket change I'm now able to let my clutch out without giving the bike any additional gas and it will take off. It's now impossible to stall unless maybe if I just dump the clutch, but if I ease off of it, it will take off. No throttle is necessary for parking lots either. Is that just a result of the different gearing, or something else related to my problem?
What else can I try? I tried to see if I could take that linkage piece back off and figure out what I did to change it, and couldn't figure it out. So I'm officially stumped. Any suggestions that don't involve me putting things in or taking things out of my bum are appreciated.
