Ok I know this is hijacking the thread and I don't post much but I do read a lot! I got a nail in my back tire! I just got these tires at the end of last riding season. The guy at the service shop said it's better to replace the tire than risk the tire failing at a high speed... any suggestions?

try searching, im not sure what, tires, nail screw something, there was just a thread on this about 3 weeks ago, it got pretty heated lol. IMO if you can afford it and still feed your kids if you know what i mean than replace it. If you absolutely cant then i would make sure i went no higher than 50 or 60mph
a lot of guys getting screws or nails though, i guess cause bike tires are softer they get bitten more than car tires.
regarding the nail in the tire. I have had a small round headed pin in my tire since about 100 miles. It hasnt leaked air, its in one of the treads, makes zero contact with the ground.
Ive left it be for almost 3900 miles now with no issues, now I rarely see 100 MPH, so that may be one factor, but typically I would say if you have a large nail and it can make contact with the ground, replace the tire.
Thank you all who have responded. It does make contact with the ground. Looks like the head of the nail broke off at some point. Called cycle gear and apparently they don't carry nor can stock the Q2 because the Q3 is already out.
