GoPro mount for Iphone

sounds great for gps but for filming id risk a go pro over my phone...... phone isn't water proof, go pro hd is better quality go pro has protective case designed for extreme conditions....etc. on top of if my phone broke...or fell off then how do you find your way home!! or communicate if you go down :0
Good points. but I would like to compare vid footage of gopro with iphone just for shits and giggles.

Either way, Jon's other points still outweigh using the phone as an action cam.

DANG the wide angle is so much better and the iphone quality seemed about the same just darker then the gopro 2.
I already have a gopro 2 but I like to tinker with shi%$ on my free time. using it for the gps may be the best feture. another cool idea that i want to look further into is potentialy having the phone as a realtime rear view cam. that would be sick!
i would also recommend getting the extended insurance on your iphone because if you didnt and you dropped it lost it etc it would be cheaper to replace a go pro lol

Never understood rear view cameras for bikes. Mirrors/turn your head.id use face time lol u could use ur iphone and ipod or i pad or macbook or another iPhone.....
i guess this tech is about to come out

There is a website were people can design things you can then upload your models have them made and share them. I am gave the designer a curtasy pm asking asking of he was okay with me sharing his design considering he gave me special permission to see that iPhone 5 gopro mount model. If he is okay with it I will post a link. Others have made gopro attachments to remote control helicopters ect

With that said, the mount was not intended to be used in rough situations such as mounting to a helmet or the outside of a car. I personally created the mount to be used inside of the car. I have an iPhone based GPS lap timer and I needed a place to mount my phone where I could see it, but it could also have a clear view of the sky for the GPS signal. I have attached a picture of my mount so you have an idea of what I am talking about.

After months of having the mount I can do a short review / comment. Love it! only in one scenario, it is awesome becasue it give you the flaxibility to mount your phone just about anywhere in your car and adjust the angle. I would not use it outside of that simply beacuse the iphone camera sucks balls compared to the go pro. that fish eye at 170 degre angle is amazing
I would just use these GOPRO Parts & Accessories - Flat Adhesive Mount - Cycle Gear
or the curved depending on where on the dash you will place it.
