DIY Phone GPS mount

adding to this USB charge point install,

being the frugle one that I am, I couldn't resist the urge to re-purpose the bar mount that came with my charge point.

Cut out some 1.8G Galv plate, rolled the edges, 2packed Matt black, countersunk holes,

Purchase 2 30x2.5mm Rare Earth magnets + 1 gel phone cover

Took me about an hour & half in time and using spares/ left overs from the shed!

Yes doubters I researched if the magnets would damage my phone!
Yes I tested the magnetic force (heavy shake test) and couple laps around the block with speed bump plateau's -but yet to test on a hills ride
.....bring on nice sunny WE:steve:

Been running this setup since OP, have done a further 8,000km's (mix of cross country roadtrips, hills twisties, hotlaps and commuting)
and have not had the phone rattle or give the slightlest movement whilst riding.

Works great, when I stop for food, fuel etc. all I have to do is unplug the charge cable & stick phone in my pocket!
