I traded my '09 FZ6R in on a new 2008 GSXR 600 and have not regretted the decision one bit. The Yamaha is a great bike and I would prefer it if I did a lot of commuting, but most of my riding is on the twisties in the mountains of Western North Carolina. In my opinion, in this environment, the...
Love the white and silver! I found a used, but in excellent condition, white seat cowl for mine on ebay for $59. Suzuki wanted $185 for the OEM seat cowl.
Did you have the Akrapovic put on when you bought it or was that something the dealer put on already? I'd love to see some pic's or...
The trade allowance I got from the dealer was $5,700. I had around 2,400 miles on the FZ6R. It was the Raven color and was all stock except for a fairly new set of Michelin Pilot Power tires. Here's a pic of the new '08 GSXR 600 that I traded for.

Speaking from personal experience...last November I traded my '09 FZ6R for a new '08 GSXR 600. I find the riding position on the GSXR more comfortable, even on longer rides. The power output of the GSXR in "C" mode feels similar to the FZ6R. I only use C mode in wet or rainy conditions. In...
Most of my time on the bike is spent taking short trips (2-4 hours) up to the mountains and finding some twisties. Also, I took the FZ6R to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Al and did a track day (most fun I've ever had on a bike). I don't use my bike for commuting. I loved the FZ6R...
I got $5,700 trade allowance for my FZ6R. The bike had 2,400 miles on it and was in excellent condtion. The GSXR I bought was a new '08 with no miles on it and it was heavily discounted.
A couple of months ago I traded my FZ6R in on a GSXR 600. I put the stock windscreen back on the Yamaha before I traded and I have a clear raised bubble windscreen for the Yamaha that is in perfect condition which I have no use for.
If anyone is interested, I'll sell it for $35 with no...
Mine did the exact same thing for the first 100-150 miles, but shifting smoothed out thereafter. After my 1st oil change at 600 miles the shifting smoothed out even more.
Thanks for the feeback and I agree with it. Running at higher RPM would have really helped me to pull out of the curves with more speed and gain speed faster. It took about 2 or 3 sessions just to get a good handle on the track and different lines. People were running off the track into the...
YouTube - 1st Track Day
Well, for what its worth, here's a short video of my 1st ever track day. It was at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The only bike I could keep up with was another FZ6R.
Most all the other bikes were R6's, R1's, CBR's, GSXR's, ZX6R's and a bunch of...
Nice video! I'm going down to Barber in Birmingham for my first track day in November with the NESBA (Northeast Sport Bike Association). I have a some questions for you.
1. Was it diffucult to remove the mirrors?
2. Do you have the Dunlop Roadsmart tires on your FZ6R?
3. How many miles...
