It's not so much the cold that bothers me. Around here, it could be 45* then a few hours later 8" of snow... We also get quite a bit of black ice, I don't like taking my chances when it gets toward 35*...
I keep an fixed eye on the weather radar this time of season. if there was moisture in the evening, then there might be black ice on my trip in the morning. So I would pass riding in that case.

Doesn't matter the temp (as long as it's not pouring/icy)... You grab any long, snaking, back road around here (and there's an endless supply), and it'll put a grin on your face after the lousiest day... I *really* don't envy you northerners...
Good pair of gloves (and those A* Tech Roads do the trick), a good winter jacket, and neck gaiter... good Playlist piped through the Sena, and I'll do this year round, till it (or something else) kills me...
