2011: and now there are 2 colors

Now I have to talk my wife into upgrading from her '09 black Ninja 250r she just got this spring to the orange FZ6R ASAP. My son just turned 11, but he loves orange, maybe I could get it for him... it'll keep for 5 years, right?;)

'and they still have lots of 2009 models on the floor that I really wanted to get at first, but they still want to sell it for more than $6K, or they don't want to sell. I don't know with these dealerships.
2010 models, I've seen a few, and the Black & Gold is the one i really want now, but asking is still the up there....
now 2011 are coming, so what now.......
Will somebody (Dealership) give me a decent OTD price for the 2010 FZ6R Black/Gold... I've looking too long now.

I do like that BMW S1000RR, I've sat on one, and it feels more supersport posture, but not that much more than the FZ6R than I thought, maybe it was just me. I do like the K1300S though and if I ever upgrade from the FZ6R to another sport ill go with it, and the orange just looks sexy in person

does anyone know what the approximate actual out the door price on a 2009 or 2010 S1000RR runs in actuality? they must be expensive, because i don't see that many on the road...

i know you were wanting otd price, but i just stole this from their website.
not as bad as one would expect from all it has to offer.
i think the reason you don't see too many is b/c they haven't made too many.
i also seen somewhere that the 2011's are going up in price. i like it alot too, but when you are intimidated by it, it can't lead to good things. :(

2010 BMW S 1000 RR PRICING:
MSRP*: $13,800.00

The dealer in STL had one for i think 16k otd for the newest but another that was a year old for 11k that was bare boned,

after seeing the orange fz6r, i might have to wait to get rid of my r1. that really is something else!

off topic a bit, but anyone check out the 2011 red(ish) r1? are those skulls?

you're not kicking yourself already are you :p

Well... I would have for sure gone with the red if it was out haha. But I am indeed happy with the black/gold! :D If all else fails, I can buy the fairings haha.

That orange is friggin' hot!!!!

Jay Leno's tech said that the BMW S1000RR gives the Japanese bikes a run for their money- not to mention all the tech & engineering that went into that bike... http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/at-the-garage/motorcycles/2010-bmw-s-1000-rr/

Take a look at the specs between the BMW vs. the R1 vs. the R6 vs. FZ6R... VERY interesting imo- esp when you compare the seat heights, wet weights, and power...

true.... true...

compared to the FZ6R tho, the bmw is still 15 lbs lighter, and only 1.1" higher seat-wise. some of us may not even have to have it lowered.

the R6 is 53 lbs lighter than us. but it's seat height is also 2.6" higher, so it might have to be lowered, which might affect handling (?)

i wonder what's more negative- the higher weight or the higher seat.

ok, guys from the sportbike forum posted their otd prices... still pretty high i guess. the range is anywhere from high $15k's to $20k when fully-loaded... PRICEY!

*** but, check out this super bike shoot-out comparison... nuts! :)
2010 Superbike Smackdown VII Track - Sportbike Motorcycle Comparison Review - Motorcycle USA

*** for those too lazy to read all 10 pages, here are the final rankings:

the bmw kicked arse, and honda came in a not-too distant second. the stats on the R1 are in the bottom of the barrel... :(
