Wind gust in turn

Had an interesting ride home, was entering onto highway from side road overpass. It's a right, left, right where you can hit 65 to merge usually.... (off waxpool onto 28: rt 7 church road - Google Maps)
first two turns were normal, last right I was hit by a wind gust that was not letting me lean into the turn, scared the crap out of me cause I was going pretty much straight into traffic instead of following the on ramp. Managed to lean in hard and stay in the on ramp, but was all the way on the line.
Anyone else have a wind gust scare the crap out of them?

I had one move me over from the right side of one lane to the left side of the next lane on the freeway on Monday. Scared the sheite out of me.

Yeah, wind gusts are pretty scary. If you lean into it too hard and it lets off, then you turn rapidly, but if you don't lean enough, you go straight.

Once while riding with 4 friends to the Montauk Point Lighthouse on L.I., the wind was so bad all our bikes were leaned over at almost a 30deg angle while going straight. Wasn't really scary just super weird and was something I'll never forget.

I used to feel the same in strong winds...

I learned that you have use push steering more in high winds to force the bike more as opposed to a gentle lean. Once the wind cuts out you can easily counter on the bars to maintain a consistent turn.

yeah, had it hit me again the other day on the way home, out of nowhere, started pushing me off road on outside of a gentle turn, I just used nitro's trick and yanked hard (well, pushed) on the the bars and it leaned right in, then yanked again to straighten out.
