weak throttle response

Perhaps you've over tightened the clutch? Is the bike surging/slipping too much?

it has a good start up but around 3-4k rpms it seems like its slipping and the rpm's go up with little accleration. idles fine, tried tightening up the cable, helps a bit , but eventually its too tight and doesnt want to go out of gear, loosening up the cable, gives it less power, but shifts easy.

How was the condition of the clutch basket? I'll assume you also replaced the springs and bolts?

clutch basket looked fine, however i did not change the springs, they will arrive tomorrow, so hopefully that might make a difference, i assumed since it was a fairly new bike i didnt need to, but that mightve been a mistake. what would a bad clutch basket look like though, i didnt see any imperfections when i had it open, i didnt change the bolts either, is that necessary?

There are steel plates AND fiber plates in all motorcycle clutches I've ever seen.

Perhaps missing the point here?
Steels connect the outter basket (external tabs on outside). Fiber connects the inner hub (splines on inside).
The question is; are the inner splined fiber discs aluminum backed or steel. The FZ6 (04-09) uses aluminum and they Grenade when abused!!

Currious if the R had steel backing for the fiber discs.
Tks!

when i ordered the new ones they said steel.

almost there! so i was messing with the push rod and i figured out that the marks that align on the right side are supposed to be aligned as the clutch engages, i think i just have to do a little more adjusting, because it feels like a motorcycle again.. at least when i gradually accelerate, but trying to push it, it slips still, so it might not be exact, but it makes a huge difference with a slightest adjustment. At least i know i didnt mess up the gears, im on the right track. also got the new clutch springs in. hopefully i get it back to where i had it before this mess without having to pay for an expensive mechanic

i did it! i ended up swithching out the clutch boss and turns out i had the plates in wrong, took a second look at the instructions and boom! perfection, thanks guys for all the help, i guess i learned from my mistakes, but im happy i got a working bike again
