San Diego Fireworks were epic...failure?

If anyone hasn't heard, here's a video of the San Diego fireworks. There was a malfunction at most of the locations and all of the fireworks were shot off in 30 seconds.

I went to the SD county fair where the fireworks worked and were pretty good, but I sort of wished I would have seen this in person...

About 15 years ago a mortar tube fell over at the beginning of the display in El Cajon at the Santee river lakes. All I remember is this visual of the dude diving off the island and it blew up while he was still in the air. The back of his head was singed before he hit the water and it was all over in about a minute.
Looked like a freaking war zone on that island.

I'd guess Michael Bay directed that display, but it didn't last for 2 1/2 hours...
