So, MCA from the Beastie Boys died today of cancer. He has battled salivary gland cancer for 2 years and lost. That being said, any Beastie fans out there? What's your favorite song? Mine was "Slow and Low"

Sad day indeed. Back in the early 80's my brother who is in a band called Black 47 turned a loft in NYC into a rehearsal studio called Giant. I worked there one summer and Sunday mornings were discounted rates on a room so parents from long island would bring their wannabe rock start teens and drop them off for practice sessions. Needless to say it was loud and mostly distorted noise and crashing drums, not good for a Sunday morning hangover. One of the regulars on those painful Sunday mornings was Michael Diamond (Mike D).
RIP indeed!! I remember listening to 'Licensed to Ill' when I was like 8 or 9 in my grandmother's basement hopeing they wouldn't come down and catch us. Sad sad day. Intergalactic was one of my favorite's. My DJ freind is playing a show tonight and he's going to do a little tribute to them even though he usually just drops DnB.
That's two in two days. Yesterday was Jr Seau (HUGE story here in San Diego) and now MC A.
