Please correct me if I am wrong, it has been a few years in discussing this...
From what I recall the higher octane is needed for higher compression engines, since it is less prone to detonation. Detonation is when the mixture ignites without the spark. When does detonation occur, in regards to the engine cycle and how does this effect power/mpg?
Let's just say some have a more sensitive "arse"......Next!
