Parting ways: sorry for the long period of silence

Hey guys! Long time no talk! First i want to say sorry for not being so active, life is crazy! Second i would like to say i decided to part with my fz6r, after 10,000 miles and 5 years of riding her i thought it was time for somthing different and somthing that wasnt lowered alog with all the silly crap that my 6r had going on thanks to the stupid previous owner, a dealership buddy that screwed me over and a mechanical misshap thanks to a stupid friend.

The other thing i wanted to bring to light in thid post is i also have a project bike, i am currently working on restoring a 1970 honda cl350.

I do have some random parts laying around from the 6r, a modded air box, the stock exhaust, some shorty levers and some misc pieces id like to donate away but ill post that all up when im home. For now heres what you all are waiting for.

To explain i traded the 6r for next to nothing, i got Dxked around by tye local triumph dealer for 2 weeks and wondered off to colemans power sports here in falls church, and came home with a 2012 ducati monster 796 the firdt pic is the day i brought it home, then a pic of my 6r on the show room floor the following week, next to a street triple just like i was looking for, however i now have no regrets choosing the ducati. The last picture is of my ducati with some of thr mods i have already done. I did not include any pictures of my project bike, but they are on my facebook ill post them in my gallery on here again when i get home.

Thank you for the love and support this forum is among the best around and i dont plan on retiring from here any time soon!

Congrats, Jon. I'm sure a lot of the old timers on here remember your trials and tribulations in acquiring your FZ6R.

Glad you've gone to a bike that oozes character. Ducatisti seem to be very passionate about their bikes.

I used to own a '78 CB550--really, really great little bike that I loved dearly, but it had many mechanical problems, none of which were my doing. I would suggest staying away from old bikes unless you truly love wrenching, love problem solving, and have the budget for the repairs it will inevitably need. I now love owning a modern, reliable, EFI bike! More riding, less wrenching!

Well to start i am restoring the bike from the ground up. I will not only be restoring it but modernizing it, upgrading to a modsrn stator, replacing the points based ignition with an electronic one etc from what i have read the cl350/cb350 was known for its reliability. None the less it will not be a daily riden bike. And thank you i am very pleased with the ducati, i miss the 6r to a degree but cant look back the ducati is a whole different beast.

I havent writen anything up and have been having issues with sd errors and updatig ny go pro, i woukd have haf vlogs from the fz6. A yesr ago had this stuff worked right!! But so far the only information i can provide to the forum so far is if your thinking about a duc, choose wisely and know that each 7500 mile service can cost between $300 -$1500. somthing thr dealer doeant openly share!

I have put roughly 300 miles on my bike, and thr best i can do at the moment is say shes cold blooded and needs to sit on a tender unlike my 6r that started no matter what. And that for a 2 cylinder motor shes awfully smooth lol
