You should only get crap for a thread revival when you're answering, or responding to, a question or comment someone made way back when the thread was current. For example, if this thread had been revived with a comment of, "Yeah I get grease on my pants too" and that was it, that person should rightly be scorned and shamed. In this case, new information was presented and that's A OK.

Though luckily my ninja doesn't have this issue but I have a friend who's bike I don't like the fact that there is a hole next to the area where he puts his foot. Something like that might fit the bill for a fix for him. He's not had an issue yet but I wouldn't want him to ever have an issue.

I think he added that little silver piece above the pegs, I've seen something like that on rearsets of other ss bikes.

You can also put a large rubber band over your jeans, over your ankle. I would do that sometimes when I would ride the FZ6R without over pants so that my jeans didn't flap into the chain.

Was required to ride on base. They made velcro bands but rubber band would work.

Just get the boot ties. I forget their actual name right now, I have a few sets sitting with my old uniforms. They have metal hooks on them but a large thick mild strength bungee type cord. They work great for that. Kind of like a hair tie thing but for boots and with small metal hooks to attach to each other.
