Oil light on after oil change?

I just got a 2012 Fz6r and decided to change the oil. The light was not on before and the oil was that old but I decided to change it anyways (and the filter). Every thing was fine and I rode it afterwoards gently with no problems. This morning when I went to ride it the oil light came on and there seems to be less oil on the dipstick even though it didn’t leak any. Any ideas?

The bike takes roughly 3 Liters, 2.5 liters w/o oil filter. make sure you put the correct amount of oil in. IMO i would fill it up to the full line on the dipstick.
