New bike, adding to the stable, stupid move??

I test rode a C50 this year in Daytona. That was the longest 15 minute ride of my life... can pay me enough to ride one.

Wow, I think the C50 is a great looking bike. Didn't know they sucked to ride.

I don't think I could live with an FJR. Too big, too heavy... and I'm vain, the FZ6R is a GREAT looking bike. FJR doesn't do anything for me. If anything I was thinking FZ-09 or street triple as my next commuting bike because it's lighter.

So my update on the VX1000 is there is no update. I've emailed the guy twice, that's his only contact info, and I can't get a response. My wife has actually warmed up to the idea. Also it's 2 hours away and we gotta borrow a truck, but he's right next to Luray Caverns, so we can have a little date in the caverns and ride skyline drive

Just gotta get a grand for her Ninja 250 first, or no deal..............

Good luck, like is said wish you were here i would take it off your hands. you have any picts? Maybe someone on the site can buy it for their wife or something. btw the C50 does not suck to ride, its a great cruiser. its just not a sport bike. i think all cruisers are pigs at low speeds so be ready for that. Here are some pics. I'll post up here in the buy/sell in case anyone wants it or can help me out.

White 2004 Ninja 250, under 11,000 miles. Great tires, chain, carbs recently cleaned.

The bad:
Paint is not original, but it's in good shape.

Only has 1 key.

Missing windshield. Took off the cracked oem one, ebay one I got didn't fit by a long shot!

Last time I cleaned the carbs, some spring clamp things fell off the boots and I lost them. Zip tied the boots but they don't work 100%. When they start to slip off you lose some power between 6-8k but it's totally driveable. I rode it to 105mph when we were in Nag's Head this summer, took it almost everywhere that whole week.

Solid bike, super light, and I can run through backroads faster on this than my FZ6R. Been asking $1200 and $1400, but to an FZ6R brother or sister, I gotta get at least a grand.



This was after the paint job, forgot to put front fender on but it's there now.

Here's my 2c:

My ex learned to love motorcycles on the back of her cousin's when she was a kid. That grew old as quickly as she did.

She loved riding pillion on my '82 CB750c. We did lots and lots of miles that way. We gelled pretty well for a long time.

Fast-forward. Now Ex-wife learned to ride and liked sport bikes. She is the one who got me into them.

Fast-forward. I learned to love a sport bike. Fast forward. When I got the 6R, I bought my son the gear so we could ride together. Forget about it. There is no sport-bike where anyone can ride comfortably on pillion.

"Sport-bike." "Ride comfortably on pillion." Those two things are self-exclusive. You can't have both.

There may be some dedicated sport-tourers out there that would make you happy. SHE might even say she is happy, but I honestly don't it'd be honest.

If I'm reading things right, she loves you, and understands the fact that you love motorcycles and wants to be with you to be a part of, and perhaps experience your joy.

She's just not feeling it on her own bike, but wants to be with you and experience it the way you do.

If I'm reading that right, then you've got a great opportunity here. She didn't just shut it down. You can still keep her riding with you, but it's a compromise.

You've got to get a cruiser. Don't just give it all up and go all Goldwing or Harley. Look at Honda's CTX line. Look at the new Indians.

It's a different kind of ride, to be sure. There are, however motorcycle options that will keep a wife happy when (on the back seat) rather than "pillion" and might just allow you some fun as well.

They are heavy bikes. Comfort comes at a price. But if it means you can ride your roads with a loving wife at your back, and still enjoy riding a motorcycle, only now SHE is happy as well. It's like a commercial: Priceless.

I hadn't posted about it, but my bike bite the back end of a car at 60km/hr while i was avoiding someone else pulling out on me... She was a total write off. I literally walked it off to the shock of the ambos that turned up, they thought I was/am mad...
